Remote Start!

Will you be able to control the heated seats, steering wheel, and front and rea defrost with this controller?
Nope! Just the features listed above. However, we do have another module we might be releasing to the Stinger market, that allows for memory to be saved. So..... If you leave the heated seats on when you turn the engine off, with this module, it would return back to the same condition each time you get into the vehicle and start it up.

Any plans for a cellular based system that can be activated by a phone app rather than the very limited range factory key fob?
also- if my car already has the OEM remote start module(s), I assume this will replace those?

That pretty much right now makes this not much better than the OEM remote start. The rest are neat little side things to have, but for remote start, having control of all your temperature settings is pretty much a must for me. Thanks for the info though..my wait will continue.

I dunno, not being able to roll down the windows with the remote was a big let down for me, also disappointed there isn't an autolock feature encase I forget to lock the car. This fixes both of those things.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
$299.95 shipped within the continental US.

However, we will be doing a pre-order group buy for customers as well.
It’s only 300 for the remote start ? With all those added features? Is install easy?

Let me know when the group buy is!

Unfortunately, I do not believe this is something the manufacturer is working on at this time.

I would respectfully have to agree to disagree with you there. The fact that you are able to use your original factory remote, don’t have to turn the engine off when getting into the car just to start it back up again, the added proximity unlocking and locking of the doors when you approach the vehicle or walk away from the vehicle, among many of the other features, it definitely makes this product much more beneficial, convenient, & worthwhile than the factory remote starter. However, no matter how cool or beneficial a new product is, it won’t be for everyone.

If we have the old original module can we trade it in + cash
Old module? The new product for the Kia Stinger has not yet been released. We also do not do any types of “trades” here, unfortunately.

Exactly, just the proximity locking and unlocking of the doors is pretty darn cool. You never have to worry about forgetting to lock your doors when walking away from the vehicle.

Yes, that is correct. It is $300 for this product which includes all of the features listed with the exception of the auto window feature which will hopefully be introduced sometime later this year. Install is not easy, and not for the faint of heart. This is a very involved product that taps into several connections on the vehicle. We highly highly recommend professional installation, and to solder all of the connections as well.

Let me know when the group buy is!
We will definitely be making a new post, posting it in our Kia Stinger Facebook group, and making sure that everyone is aware of it.

Following this thread now, depending on the install process I'll get in on the group buy/pre-order.

This would be my first time doing any aftermarket modification so sorry if my question is stupid but you make the install sound very complex and I don’t want to chance screwing up my car. Will it be easy to find a shop in my area (Austin, TX) that can properly install this remote start? If so around what should I expect to pay a shop to professionally install it?

This new remote start is a possible buy for me. Following for when install instructions are available and hopefully can be posted here. Might be in on the group buy.

Your question is not stupid at all. I just wanted to be very clear that the install is NOT easy and that yes, it is very complex for someone not familiar with wiring and soldering and what not. It should not be difficult to find a professional automotive shop that can do the install for you. In terms of costs, it will vary as labor rates vary from city to city and state to state. However, with that being said, a 3-5 hour install would not be unreasonable, whereas it should only take a very experienced tech 2-3 hours to install, where someone not as experienced may take 4-5 hours to install it. This should give you an idea, as you can check around with local shops on their hourly labor rate. Hope this helps!

Awesome, glad to hear it Rango.

Okay so a quick google search told me that most independent auto shops charge between $70-$90 an hour for labor and at $300 for the unit I would be all in somewhere between $550-$700 if I take the $80 average.

Basically the same cost as the OEM remote start installed by Kia dealership based on the three quotes I got from separate dealerships.

I was hoping this option would save me some money with a few extra nice features to boot.
I think I would be more comfortable with the OEM option installed by the dealership, especially knowing they do this all the time and if anything at all went wrong it would be fully covered.
Thanks for the info and being upfront about it! Sounds like the best option if you know how to do it yourself.

Sure my pleasure! Best of luck to you, but before you buy anything, make sure you research the OEM remote start option and the pros and cons to it as well. Our product is much more than just a remote start option. (Which also does not require you to turn the engine off after getting inside and restarting again after using the remote start feature)

The OEM remote start can simply start the vehicle. Just as if you stepped in and started the vehicle, it will "resume" the cabin heat/cool settings but that's all. I am happy enough with it - and it was a requirement for my purchase - but I do wish KIA had offered many of these other options.

I agree but I am more worried about getting this aftermarket option in the mail and then taking it to a independent auto shop to have them first ask me “what kind of car is this” then after explaining its a new Kia to compete with luxury German brands etc.. To second handing them the included instruction manual and the biggest third to expect excellence for the install. I do a trade for a living and the first time I ever do something even though it may be very similar to many thing similar I have done before many times it is never my best work.
Plus a rando auto shop could never back up a factory made and dealership installed option like this, right? Don’t mean at all to sound negative and if I was all in at $400 I would for sure go for it but at the same price I guess it is not for me.

Don’t get me wrong your product sounds like the better option than what the OEM offers.
It’s having an auto shop that I have never used before, install something that they have never done before, on a car that only came out a year ago and expect them to do it correctly.
I just want to be able to heat/cool the car for my baby while I get her ready for daycare.
So like I said yours sounds the much better option regarding features.
Since all I am looking to do is heat and cool the car from my house before I get in and I can pay about the same price. Plus have zero worries since the dealership isinstalling it. I wont mind raising my hand to press the start button again.
I guess I was just thrown off by looking at aftermarket remote starts apparently for more common cars. They start at about $60 up to $180 and I even found a few on Amazon that offered install for for an extra $100.
The Stinger is so new so I totally understand this is not a mustang and again I am glad for the info and prompt responses! If I wanted more than to heat/cool my car I would for sure go with your option.

Sounds like you keep talking your self out of this option because your unfamiliar with car accessories

Maybe this option is not for you as you need to do your homework to find someone that can professionally install but I can guarantee your missing out on an option filled product.

It will be different for everybody. As some have mentioned, they love you can roll your windows up and down and have the proximity lock/unlock. For me, those are just nice little trinkets to have. I have to walk to the car anyway and grab the handle to get in, so pushing a little square on the handle is no big deal. More important options for me is to be able to turn on the rear and front defrost, turn on the heated steering wheel/seats. For the summer, turn on the ventilated seats. If it had those features, plus the ones that I consider trinkets, then it would be a go for me regardless of cost. It's going to come down to what each individual is looking for and what their priorities are.
