Remote Start!

Hey there. Sorry I am just responding. The OEM starter was bought from the K8 Stinger Store before Christmas. They don’t seem to carry them anymore. I don’t know the price because it was a gift. You can buy it from the dealer though I think.

Sorry, and to answer your first question - yes the engine does shut off as soon as you open the door.

I have an issue that the remote start works no problem but when I open the door, the car shuts off. I've never had a car do that. Is there a way to make it keep ru N in NG when I open the door?

The answer is literally one post above your post .... Get an aftermarket remote start like compustar.. It will not turn itself off.

This is not correct, we have never sold an OEM remote starter or any remote starter for the Kia Stinger in the past, you must be confusing us with another company.

The good thing is, this would NOT happen with our new product! ;)

@K8 Stinger Store - my apologies. It was given it as a birthday present and I thought that is where the person that gave it to me said they purchased it.

No problem at all, it happens. I just didn't ant anyone to get confused..

Looks like there may be two separate instructions:
Press trunk or panic once for some units, double-press for others.
I just checked my car again and it requires a double-press.

Mine was recently installed by dealer and Karl says he installed his himself. Maybe the units installed at factory (or port) have different instructions than units dealers have, or one's a later version.
Hi guys
I have a 2019 Kia Stinger GT2 and they come with the factory autostart option. On my key fob I push lock 3x to start. I found this out by accident when I was locking my car and pushed the lock button 3x and my car started! If you look at the window sticker under standard options it will be listed there. I thought they were an option only.

That's not a factory option, it's dealer installed. The only Factory remote start is through the UVO system and isn't available in America.

Few Stingers do come with remote start installed from factory.

Not a dealer installed option. It’s standard equipment on 2019s. It’s on the window sticker under standard equipment.

It is additional installed equipment for 2019 models, those who come with one from factory show it on sticker. Mine is 2019 too but didn't come with one.

If you go to Kia's website it will show as an additional option for 495.

Do you have a pic of the window sticker that you can share?

He already attached a window sticker pic to post above. Unfortunately, it proved that it was NOT standard equipment, but a $495 additional installed equipment as others have stated.

I think that @Ruturaj posted his window sticker, but I did not see a post of a window sticker from @AK Raymo that showed his remote start. But I suppose that I could have missed it.

I bought mine from the dealer and installed it myself. Tight squeeze, but definitely do-able on your own.

What remote start option did you go with? Looking into options for my 2019 gt2 now.

I went with the Kia OEM. The good: self install is doable, not easy, but doable. It can use the existing key fob. The bad: car turns off when you open the door or trunk and after it runs for 10 minutes it shuts off and beeps the horn to let you know that it shut itself off. I am happy with it though. I would do the same thing again.
