Yeah one of the weak spots of the car. My coating is physically coming off, I can actually remove it with my finger nail on one side. I bought some wraps on amazon to try. But maybe before I do I will ask the dealer to replace. Just don’t want all those rubber seals getting messed up by the dealer.
Very good point. I give dealership service too much credit sometimes assuming they are the experts and know how to do things right and specific to the vehicle. Unfortunately , my visit was not without its challenges. They completed but upon final inspection , one section was popping up and I know the tech knew as well hoping I would miss it. Keep a close eye and take your time reviewing the work if you go that route.
Mine was on one side also, drivers side (right side in Aussie), always in the mid day sun at work, even my plastic inserts in between the doors have disfigured near the roof slightly during last summers 40 degree heatwave, not made for hot weather im guessing.

Mine are the same. Not sure if it’s from weather or not. Almost looks like it’s a pressure point for the install? It looks like dimples. As you state you can see the deformation in the sun. Sorry about orientation. It keeps rotating my picture.

Yeah mine came from the dealership like this. I am assuming its some kind of mounting point for the door trim pieces since it is consistent on both sides of the vehicle.

The trim down both sides has started to look like crap....there was slight discoloration in a couple spots when I purchased it about 6 weeks ago.....I pay for 6 months at a time for unlimited car washes at a car wash company that has multiple locations that does touch the car, after every car wash the trim hadn’t really changed much but could tell it was getting worse...then I went to a touch less car wash and after the wash my trim basically looked like this....I’ve read about some people compounding it and using other products on it but looks like I’m just gonna have the guy who does all the work on my car wrap it gloss black and be done with it!!!
Im having this issue but only on 1 piece of the trim. Everything is spotless and in good shape except on the rear passenger side. Have about 1700 miles on the car.

Went to the dealership during my oil change and told them things I wanted replaced. Black mirror, my key, and such.
They quote on quote said black mirror can't be replaced due it being a wear n tear caused by humans and the environment. I simply said it looks kinda like acid rain or hard water spots. Sounds bs to me. Saying its not a defect. Don't ever state anything but you want it replaced it looks prematurely worn for a new car.
Roof rattle same issue, they wanted to charge me if I wanted it "fixed". I was like huh I rather just fix it myself than pay you money to fix a issue with the car from factory.
My key, they ordered it n I said hold it till my next oil change which was this one. All my work was done and I said so did you make a new key for me? They go dumbfounded n can't find one.
I say give me the bill n they charged me for the key n oil change which both should have been free n I asked for my refund. Promise of purchase I was told free oil changes n a free second key. So why am I getting charged for either even after I told them on arrival?
Really a sad joke it is what it is I will just do my own work on my car.

on my 10k service the other day i pointed out the trim and the black plastic center pillar distortion and the dealer has organised the parts and booked me in for the replacement with no hassles.
p.s. Did mention this forum though when they said they had not had any issues with other stinger owners trim.

I had the same problem, and I only used touchless car washes. I showed the discoloration to my dealer(it was only on the passenger side), and they made a call to see if it would be covered, and it was! They replaced it for me no charge.
