Thanks for sharing this, I discovered I have this issue myself after changing the engine lube oil yesterday. You didn't need to bleed the cooling system after, right?
Is yours leaking again? Another member above says his is leaking again after replacing!
I replaced my oil filter housing/cooler in Jan 2023 @ 135,000km (it was leaking badly and left a small pool of oil on ground) and now my new one is starting to show signs of a minor leak again @ 160,000km. Wtf
Has a more permanent solution been found for this? I still have 4yrs/63k left on my factory warranty. Obviously I'll get to the years before the miles but I'd like to not have to be dealing with this every couple years.
Mine is currently leaking, have about 37k on the car, was bought new. Due soon for an oil change. The shitty part is that they won't order the parts beforehand until they look at the car. I already know that's the issue. So basically, they'll look at it, then they'll say they need to order parts. So I'm making an appointment to either bring the car back for another appointment or they'll have to give me a loaner anyways, kinda redundant.

If you're sure it's the oil filter cover and you don't want to wait for them to "diagnose" that it's the oil filter cover and have your car sit while the part arrives, you could always go to the parts dept before you get your oil changed. Order the part yourself and bring it with you during the oil change. Ask them to swap it regardless and to return the part that was originally on the car to you.

The reason why the dealers have to do it this way is if it's a warranty claim, there's an internal process of submitting a claim, getting the claim approved by head office, then they can order the parts, but I do agree it's an inconvenience.
My OE oil filter housing and new oil cooler came in, and I ordered new bolts too. I'll install mine next oil change and do a how-to video by April. It seems like the problem might come back, so I plan to assemble the oil cooler to the filter housing in advance, and possibly use some gasket maker as a reinforcement for sealing.
