If the Stinger didn't exist, what would you have bought?

If everyone liked the same things, we'd still only have the Model T in any color you like as long as it's black.

2020 Mercedes-Benz S-Class · MSRP
$94,250 - $235,600

Used, sure thing. But maintenance costs of premium "grade" automobiles are never affordable. My friend's erstwhile used Ferrari cost him a thousand bucks each oil change.

There are lots of millionaires driving 10-year old Corollas. In fact, that's why they're rich and I am not :)
True story. Once dated a girl whose dad was a international aviation attorney based in DC. He drove an old brown 1980s Oldsmobile.

Luxury CPO is the way to go. Many offer very attractive APRs for those financing, 2 years scheduled maintenance for free, road-side assistance, and multi-year unlimited mileage warranties.

Another option is to lease a demo/loaner car. As long as the vehicle has never been titled in anyone else's name, it qualifies for all new-vehicle incentives (and warranty) and often some other ones. Some of them have 5k-10k miles on them, and are discounted to reflect that. There's a whole community of people on leasehackr that do this.

Almost did with 2017 Audi S7 prior to purchasing of my Stinger.....CPO would have been between 58-74k mileage and package depending.....saved nearly 30k plus I think got more features; maybe not the same prestige but I'm MORE than ok with my decision.

Still, we're comparing new to new. If we're going to compare used to used, the Stinger price drops from a much more impressive MSRP. And you can get all of that on a CPO Stinger.

I've said this before but I hope my latest purchase is my last NEW car. I've been a bit stuck in the new car trap due to only having 1 vehicle and trade-in being the most convenient option to move into something else. After this lease is done, I hope I have some cash in the bank to buy something outright and get out of payments...

Little different mindset.....trying to get Stinger to go 7yrs minimum....... then check options with savings, deferred comp stash and impending social security benefits......

I'd normally agree, but in the specific case of the Stringer, it seems the CPO deals are pretty bad because they don't seem to reflect the massive lease incentives. I wouldn't be surprised if the CPOs are actually more expensive than the lease+buyout. I could be wrong, I'm just going off of anecdotal posts, not real research. The people buying used/CPOs right now are getting a pretty poor deal imho, based on the prices they're posting.

That is why I won't drive a top luxury car because what I don't know, I won't miss. Happy to remain " blissfully " ignorant and enjoy my Stinger for what it is. Iv'e only been inside a Merc as a passenger and that was years ago. Enjoy your new ride :)

Audi S5 Sportback. I almost did buy and then thought again due to the degrading reliability after the poor warranty expires and the ripoff maintenance cost.

If you ever have the opportunity, check out a 2nd generation Kia K900. Model year 2019 or 2020.
It shares the same powertrain as the Stinger GT2 and gives the Benz S450, Audi A7 and the BMW 8 series a run for their money. The K900 is pure luxury. My K900 sits next to my GT2
