3.3TT DIY intakes w/Heat shielding drop about 0.2sec off 0-60

The dealership couldn't try to argue that this will cause an overstrain to the vehicle if the owner has engine/turbo problems in the future??
They could, but they'd have a weak case. It's also super easy to swap back to stock with these DIY intakes. Remove one hose clamp and then put your old boxes back in. You wouldn't even need to screw them down just to take it in for service.

Any dealership can screw your day up with modifications. Weak case or not, what do you do when they refuse to help you? Sure you could be in the right, you could try and sue them, do you have that time and money?

Modifications: either do your own maintenance, take the mods off before going to dealership, or be ready to pay to play. Or you could do what I did, and just ask your dealership what they are ok with. Intakes, catback, no problem will never question it. Some dealerships wont be that cool.

Theres plenty of threads about this all over the internet, its probably one of the first forum posts when the internet was created. This question is not specific to the Stinger/G70 or any other car. Plenty of stories going one way or the other, its up to each person to decide their own risk/reward threshold

Most lawyers offer free consultation. It also depends on the mods and dealership. I would love to see how Kia could deny any warranty claim for someone who only has a catback exhaust... just as an example of course...

A free consultation would be the first of many steps. Like I said, you might win eventually. But my time and stress level are worth more than that. Not to mention you are out of a car or loaner during the time you are disputing the issue. It’s just a good thing for people to know that some dealers are evil, don’t underestimate them when it comes to your nice car

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
In 2000 I filed against Ford for a mustang gt with blown motor, I won, took 8 months.
I am on second stinger, at 2k miles I heard high pitch sound and my driver side turbo is trashed. Kia denied my claim even though car was completely stock and I have a mechanic from ship I’ve been going to for years that diagnosed the problem and will testify to car being stock.
Kia decided the damage had to be from external object and ergo since I now have some mods I must have caused it. They offered because I am two time owner to cover the labor if I bought the turbo.
I told them to go jump in the lake, I am suing for fraud as Kia has declined a valid warrant claim making their entire warranty worthless.

I will be slow process, I have my shop replacing damaged turbo.

bottom line is if u have changed your hood emblem and Kia knows they will use that to void a substantial warranty claim

I’m suing because is right thing to do and I’m not going to be bullied!

Kia 100% can void a warranty claim and point to what they want, the proof is also 100% on them if you fight it. The monetary burden to get them to settle is on you. I however have lawyer insurance lol so burden on me a little less.

sorry for long response but what you need to know is Kia will blame you for issue if they can, I am 100% proof.

I had bought 12-13 cars from Ford, never bought another after my settlement. Kia is acting 100% unethically in my case and they have lost what would have been a very loyal customer.

They do not have the right to deny a warranty claim because of ur dyi intake unless it is proven to cause the issue but they know the cost burden is heavy to fight them. They are a crap company putting profit over ethics and I am all in to sue!!!
Can u tell I’m a little passionate abot this

Okay... that worries me tremendously...

Your car was 100% stock and after a turbo failure Kia denied your warranty claim? That's insane... Completely backwards...

Good luck with the legal process! I admit I had to get my lawyer involved after my five visits and many lost hours of time n' stress for them trying to figure out how to make my car not shake at 20mph... took multiple months for things to settle afterwards...

Ironically I admit, hearing a story like this, genuinely makes me want to sell my Stinger and try to break even or at least not lose too much...

Looks good

DIY intakes done! Went the spectre option, with heat shields. Worked out a really easy way of securing them with the heatshields and the OEM bolt that attached the OEM Airbox. Had to cut a small portion out of the top of each heat shields for the engine brace, but was easy.

Each setup is really secure, easy to fit and no long term mods (other than trimming the bottom of the OEM bolt for the right side of the car (drivers side in Oz!)
