• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

What did you do to your Stinger in Australia today?

Looks great @Reldas

I haven’t taken delivery of my MY21 yet, but I thought I’d get tinting done through the dealer just to save time. I got it on my contract for $595 labelled as “Dark Knight Window Tint”.

Is this a bit excessive to people? Should I shop around to see if I can get that ceramic tint or something? I might actually flick an email over to get the information of the tint to see if it’s just standard film or a good quality one
Hey bd01 , maybe shop around and see what you get quoted !
I'm getting ceramic tinting done next Monday for $AUD 505 .
There was several places I inquired and price range for ceramic was 495 to 525 .
I just chose the one that can fit me sooner.

Yeah thanks mate, decided to email a few places and then go from there. Will probably give the dealer the flick as I’m sure there’d be a decent markup from them

The fronts got replaced at different times earlier on. The left had a screw in it and couldn’t be repaired as it was too close to the sidewall and I replaced the right about a year ago as it was wearing unevenly on the outside, probably an alignment issue.

I run them at the factory spec of 36 front and 38 rear.

I don’t know what it is with tyre dealers. Bob Jane told me they would have to get the Michelins up from Melbourne and it would take 8 weeks. The Jax website showed them as out of stock. I emailed another dealer who didn’t even reply to me. And then I rang these guys who said, no worries mate, I can have them here tomorrow, fit them Saturday for you! Cheaper than the Conti’s too. Last ContI I replaced I think was about 430-450. These came in at just under 400 a corner.
I just purchased a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. Purchased the fronts from Tyroola and had these shipped to work Syd/Mel overnight. Purchased the rears at my local Jax and had all four fitted there. Had the alignment done at my servicing Kia dealer to be told my alignment especially at the rear was massively out of spec. Interesting thought I given the recent major tyre wear issues I’ve experienced prompting the third set of tyres in under a year...but that’s another story given the reputable fitter claimed on both previous occasions that alignment was to spec. Car drives so much better now so there was a problem. Expensive lesson for me...

never get things through the dealer, shit quality, expensive and always dodgy work. Go to a proper tinting place and it will be better quality, you can choose what level tint you want and the work done will be better.

Over the weekend fitted a Maxton V1 front splitter with help from a friend who had access to a two post hoist.

Love the Red accent in the middle. Keep an eye on some of those cutters. I damaged my V2 one day on a Shell Driveway was they day I wished I went flow design that was meant to be unbreakable

A little cosmetic work yesterday.

Looks good, did you do that or have it done.
Sydney Wrap Creatives in North Parramatta. I'm very pleased with the result. Haven't been out at night but lighting in underground car park seems about the same but it's hard to tell. I would expect a slight loss.

Thanks !! Looks great !! I need to get my hood repainted in a few weeks and may try doing this with white CF vinyl !!
I used an Avery Dennison wrap that was almost an exact match to SWP. I think they do one in CF as well.
Here's some shots taken when I originally applied it. Two years on and it's like new. The work I had done on Friday was tinted PPF to headlights.

Did you get a chance to drive it last night, I like the look but worry about the legality as I drive in the dark most mornings & worry about getting pinged.
Haven't been out at night but beam against wall in carpark looks nearly normal. There were two shades available and I got the lighter version.

Not too my Stinger. But in preparation for something on my Stinger. I made a spark plug gapping tool. Wanted to make it out of Aluminium but didn’t have any on hand that was long enough and the right diameter. The stock reserves are getting pretty slim. So I used some no name steel and ripped it pretty quickly without worrying too much about surface finish.

I also couldn’t be arsed to get the right diameter to make my knurling tool work properly, so that part is more diagonal lines not a nice knurl, but it’s very effective.

I did however take the time to round off the end of the cap screw and polish it, so it doesn’t leave any marks on the new plugs. Only thing left to do is grab an M14 x1.25 tap for the plug thread.

Haven't seen a gap tool like that before. Feeler gauges are only a few dollars and more accurate?
If it works well then good job.
