• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Running late to the Marsden guys as held up at work, might have to meet you on Hawthorne Ave around 815ish

Hey Oz, can you do me a favour please. If you meet up with @Nockalous can you take a short vid of the Borla sound and send it my way :)

Having seen/heard both last night the Borla is more aggressive. A good way to piss the neighbours off, two suburbs away!!!
But it was the best sounding I've heard so far. Play it safe and stick with your Bi-modal.

Thanks @ShannonC I really don't want to piss off the neighbours two suburbs away and especially the ones in my street, so I think I will stick to the Bimodal.

Definitely a good idea regarding neighbours - I wasn't joking when I mentioned a few posts ago Lamborghini battling level of exhaust noise! (Think I remember ShannonC saying he heard it echo through the trees hahaha).

I thoroughly enjoy the Borla + Jun, B.L every second I drive, the drone is literally 0, but it replaces the drone with a very loud setup (and if secondary cat is removed it is even louder).

My opinion, I did like jraj7995's setup - so if you're gunning for louder grunt I would push towards his setup rather than chop the whole system - just my opinion!

Umm, if you do cat deletes, can't the cops get you if they pull you over for noise pollution or something ?

Not necessarily, the car would have to be highly loud or reported to the EPA. Have not read the legislation completely in Vic, but believe it's based upon idle and max rpm. The setup would be louder, but highly doubt the police would pull you over for an emissions test for a loud stinger (unless they're simply power hungry).

The main purpose of the secondary cat is to reduce emissions during the cold starts as cold cats are not as effective as warm cats (also noise). On the stinger, the secondary has no O2 sensor (or any sensor) so will not throw a code when replaced.

Have you guys had a chance to do the " launch control in your Stingers ? " I 'm guessing you need a quiet open road to go for it ?
moderators are cracking down on " off topic " comments, Eflyguy flagged some of us last night in the " other side of Kia " thread Oops.
Hi there. I know it’s an old post but I just clocked 1000ks and tried the launch control. Put a massive smile on my face for hours

After 2 1/2 years and 52 000 kms I’ve finally worn out my rear tyres. I liked the Conti’s but decided it was time for a change so put the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S all round. Haven’t driven much on them yet but so far they feel good; a bit lighter and more responsive. Mind you I’m sure part of that is due to the shop overinflating them to
43 PSI. I’ll see what they’re like after I drop them down a bit.

Did the fronts last as long or wear out sooner? I had to go Continental again because at the time there was supply issues and it’s all I could get short notice. My factory tyres were pretty much bald when replaced but I only got just over 40,000km out of them.
What pressure do you normally run them at?

The fronts got replaced at different times earlier on. The left had a screw in it and couldn’t be repaired as it was too close to the sidewall and I replaced the right about a year ago as it was wearing unevenly on the outside, probably an alignment issue.

I run them at the factory spec of 36 front and 38 rear.

I don’t know what it is with tyre dealers. Bob Jane told me they would have to get the Michelins up from Melbourne and it would take 8 weeks. The Jax website showed them as out of stock. I emailed another dealer who didn’t even reply to me. And then I rang these guys who said, no worries mate, I can have them here tomorrow, fit them Saturday for you! Cheaper than the Conti’s too. Last ContI I replaced I think was about 430-450. These came in at just under 400 a corner.

It looks great mate. Did you tint rear tail light and reflective stripes ?
Do you mind shearing who has done the job and what was cost for ceramic coating?
yeah my detailer suggested tinting the rear and i love it. Tony @ Detail Clinic - The Paint Protection Specialists did my entire car (tinting windows+rear taillights, ceramic coating, PPF and leather protection) prices are on their website.

Looks great @Reldas

I haven’t taken delivery of my MY21 yet, but I thought I’d get tinting done through the dealer just to save time. I got it on my contract for $595 labelled as “Dark Knight Window Tint”.

Is this a bit excessive to people? Should I shop around to see if I can get that ceramic tint or something? I might actually flick an email over to get the information of the tint to see if it’s just standard film or a good quality one
