• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

What did you do to your Stinger in Australia today?

Sonic did get dirty in yesterday's rain driving into town and then for a spin to Queenscliff. She handled perfectly in the wet. The dirt was mostly the back end, near the boot. Last night I fixed the height of the boot so it's in a more convenient height for me although hubby expressed " how about me ? I'll have to duck my head to get into the boot " not, that he's going to be driving it much anyway.
We both jump in.He wanted to drive and took it to the " Touchless car wash " down the road, then on the way back he decided to have some fun, he checked the brakes were good after the car wash, turned it on sports mode, changed the display so he could see when the turbos kick in and shot up the hwy for a short time. On one corner, he spun the wheels quickly and advised " Don't try it "

Remember you have to run in the engine so don’t over rev it. Check manual.

Don't worry we are not over revving it , the manual says not to go over 3,000rpm we certainly haven't gone near that.

Heres what i did to car today getting ready for gloss black paint :)
Also if your thinking of taking of side vents be aware that you may break a clip, which on both sides the bottom clip snapped off...you can see in pic..will put a daub of sikaflex on it before i put back on...still has 5 clips though. I will also put mess in holes as i found little rocks in there already..

You need my brake vent mesh to stop the rocks.

Not all pearls are the same.

As I understand it, the Kia Stinger one is a triple-pearl, and very hard to match.

Not saying it's impossible, but very hard.
As ex spray-painter I can confirm 3 layer pearls are much harder especially white pearl

Yep as i now work at bunnings i will be getting some mesh when back at work

Becareful giving your husband to much time behind the wheel means he might develop a liking for it. I'd keep him on rations or better still threaten to use his Ducati....regularly:D

I can sell you a set made from stainless steel painted black ready to fit.
Thanks but flywire mesh will do and costs me nothing..:)

Flywire mesh is too fine and will reduce airflow. Its also easy to break. The mesh I use allows good airflow and is thick and stiff enough not to break so you don't need to affix it. It just slides in and is held by the lining inside fender.

He'll be driving it when I'm away, at least he asked me if he could take it for a run now and then :D I can't ride a motorbike to save my life, he would be crapping his daks if I jumped on his bike ( so would I )

Heres how she looks after black paint :)
