What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

Is it more for drag racing ?

I posted a few weeks ago about the CF spoiler I put on Big Red, my 2019 GT2 AWD in High Chroma Red, and how it was just a little . . . too much. Since then, I've swapped out for another CF spoiler with a slightly different (less extreme) angle and a cutout. It is a bit less extreme and the cutout allows for better rearward vision. Still, it isn't as subtle as I have it pictured in my mind. While there are some spoilers that approximate what I have in mind, I can't find them in carbon fiber and the carbon fiber is a must.

Moving the CF theme inside, I've added CF trim to all of the piano black trim parts - area around the shifter, the climate control surround, the two side air vents, steering wheel - and to the shifter handle itself. The only piano black still left is the narrow strip around the info screen but it blends into the screen part itself so is hardly noticed.






Most of my mods so far have been appearance as this car is to be my daily driver/road trip (GT) car - stock performance is fine for those uses and is better for reliability. I have added an oil catch can, replaced the stock brake pads, and added the VelossaTech big mouth snorkels. Is that it for now? Maybe - y'know that mod bug does lead one down a lot of rabbit holes . . .

What mine does is firmer line pressure between shifts and it holds gears longer, I never had an issue with my factory upshifts/ downshifts but the rev matching and the burbles on downshift now are awesome plus it revs out to over 6500 on the shift change now even in D

After looking over his other stuff, I think Dazz does a little of both. By the looks of it, that second car, the ugly one with clear coat missing on the hood, only has the scoop resting on the hood for photo. It doesn't even look attached.

Amazing. The life history of that car must be a full-blown saga of mods and wraps. Ha hah. Please explain what that pipe angling up out of the side of the RF fender is about. That's the weirdest thing I've even seen. My guess is that it's connected with that enormous turbo-looking thing and was a failed experiment.

That's the exhaust. If you follow it over the fender you can see the heat-wrapped downpipe at the back of the turbo. So the entire exhaust is just that two feet or so from turbo to fender.

That is a monster turbo...how does the hood even close?

It had 1/2" clearance thanks to the XR8 bonnet bulge fibreglass bonnet with the GT47, the new owner fitted a smaller turbo on a higher manifold and had to cut the bonnet

At one stage I upgraded to a GT55 for Methanol duties only... here is a pic of both cars, one race car one tow car ... well that was the plan !

Well, my post is not as exciting as the latest discussion with all the mods that Big D is posting,
but the weather here in Ottawa was beautiful today, so I got the car out and did the tail light replacement mod.

I installed the Kia sequential signal tail lights that I ordered before Christmas......(and had sitting around waiting for spring to arrive.)
I am super happy with them. The first one took me a little while, as I had to figure things out. The second one was a breeze.
The biggest pain was removing the trim piece from the top of the old lights, without damaging them.
I could not get them off without damaging the tabs, so I took my dremel to the old lights and cut away the plastic holding the tabs in.
I'll never use the old ones again, so I didn't care. I got both trim pieces off with no damage.
Very happy with the result.


Edit. Tried to include a 5 second video of the working lights, but it won't load.
I'll see if I can get something to work later.
