Given your willingness to spend time & money on modifications, why not go with a turbo upgrade? They're not very common, so the car would be pretty unique and a monster performer.

It would be really cool to see someone's build process, especially if it involved upgraded manifolds, or at least ported ones like the TK700 ball bearing turbos.
