What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

That's just dealer marketing wank on that sheet. Not even consistent between dealers.

The Kia service manual (not dealer upsell lists) is the Bible.

I'm not knocking the over-maintaining. It's not gonna hurt anything except your wallet.

Well, it'll be a good while/distance before I get "wankered" again.

I hope this is more than a can of CRC. the air filters are easily done at home. I’m only at 6k miles now on my 22. I’m afraid of what it’ll cost when I get to 30k/60k miles. Thank goodness for this forum and YouTube. I can “webmd” the heck out of my car now and avoid some of these charges.

Honest question:
1. what is the fuel service in the first line. Fuel is ported after the valves so putting cleaner in the fuel tank does no good for the valves.
2. what is GDI major kit?

Do you/have you modded your car? If so did you remove them before the service?

The dump a can into the tank to clean the filters and the GDI cleaner is just a spray can with Kia logo on it that does the same as CRC. I know here in Canada.

No. It was fine before and after the service.

I don't know what "normal" is in this case. The manual and this Canadian service schedule don't jive. I'm assuming that dealerships go by a similar schedule.

They are on the schedule; this would be the second time I've had them replaced (but I'm not seeing where the trans fluid was "replaced", it only gets inspected and topped up; what else did they do?). The brakes (as you can see on the service sheet, pic three) are great, 8mm all around. Filters, heh, I am good for the cabin filter: could have done that one myself and saved a few bucks, but none of the rest of this is going to get touched by me: no tools, no gearheadedness :p, no interest in it either. Have fun, all you gearheads.
For that price they replaced the Trans Fluid

They definitely changed your trans fluid. The $189 for Ridgeline ATF....that's definitely not a top off.

Scratch that. It was $189 for the check. $44 for the fluid. Still...$44 does not equal top off to me.

This week: 36,000 mile service on my 2019 GT1 RWD.
  • Changed rear diff fluid. Used Valvoline 75W-90 gear oil, around $20/bottle at AutoZone, plus a tube of Trans-X PosiTrac additive, about another $20. Sixty bucks is not bad, especially when I was quoted $289 by the dealer.
  • Changed oil, my first time on the Stinger. Owing to how close the drain plug was to the crossbeam, I tried to use an adjustable wrench and rounded off the bolt head. After getting proper tools and a new plug, the change was successful.
  • "Visual inspection" as detailed in maintenance table. Which meant looking at things in and under the car while scratching my head.
  • New tires. The Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4's from the dealer barely lasted 25k miles. Went with Potenza RE980 A/S because I read those were the new OEM, and Costco had a deal on them. They're warranted for 50k miles so we'll see how that works.

Most tires have 50% warranty mileage for staggered fitment (since they can not be rotated)

Good tip, I didn't know that.

Bridgestone's is not quite as restrictive:
For tires used on staggered fitments (vehicles with different size tires between the front and rear); the front tires will have the full limited mileage warranty (if available) and the rear tires will have one-half of the stated limited mileage warranty (if available).

^^^I missed that solar flare, where was this?

Washed, ceramic spray coating, then swapped to my winter wheel/tire setup.

Took advantage of the beautiful weekend in NE Ohio to give her the possible last hand wash of the year. Looks like next week will start to bring freezing temps and snow showers, so I racked the summer performance tires.

Exactly what I said in the review I put on the eibach website. Great bars, but the bracket design needs to be better. It seems like in this case the design engineer did not realize the impracticality of the sidewall design. I definitely noticed a difference (for the better) in handling qualities. My wife and I agree that the handling is better and the ride is just a bit firmer. But its not so firm that we’d remove the bars and go back to stock. Definitely an upgrade to do if you have the patience for the one PITA nut job.
I put the Eibachs on front and rear, driver side is a BLEEP! So I loosened up and moved the gas filler tube a little, it helped get in there a little easier...just a tip to try it simple.

Welcome to the club.
I spoke a few choice words when I hit that fastener too.
Something only we who've done it can understand........

True story...f**k that bolt

Last hand car wash of the year. High of 67F today, 70 tomorrow. 40's by next week!
Any day above freezing is a good car washing day. ONR, no hoses, just wipe down and dry off. When it's in the 30s I usually get straight hot (soft water). If it's pushing 40F I'll usually mix soft hot with cold purified, one to two gallons. We have a wand touchless wash just up the road and I'll use that to spray off any really grimy accumulation first (and the undercarriage too - we are talking middle of the winter routine here).
