I probably will. I just don't know how stuck on the gunk is. All the valves are dirty, some more than others. Why don't you just try and run a valve cleaner on your engine?

CF hoods are fine as long as they are painted (as they should be). Some people say carbon fiber hoods are ugly. I don't believe them. This is my first carbon fiber hood and I think it looks great. View attachment 38682
Walnut Shell Blast time.I probably will. I just don't know how stuck on the gunk is. All the valves are dirty, some more than others.
Too bad Kia didn't have the foresight to make the engine with Direct and Port injection like many others have. Toyota's D4S is a great implementation of this idea. I think the idea is to be included on the rumored and new Kia 3.5TT, but I am not sure.Valves should not look like this after only 18k miles....... This is so sad. And people say you don't need an oil catch can. View attachment 38830
This.. this is sacrilege you speak of. BURN THE HERETIC!!! thou shall not cover thy holy pure carbon in sinful paint!CF hoods are fine as long as they are painted (as they should be).

Small update: power steering rack assembly replaced, valves cleaned, spark plugs removed and awaiting the HKS. Jhonny Tig intakes ordered, also ordered radiator and condenser. Lol kia calls the cooling fan "blower assembly" but the only thing that deserves to be called "blower assembly" is something that sits on top of the engine and whines a lot. Supercharged stinger build next?
Yeah I used CRC on the valves and let it sit there for a day. They where very dirty, CRC cleaned it up pretty good. For sure getting an oil catch can. How'd you end up cleaning your valves? Please tell me you did the CRC method with the manifold off, and let it fizz...right? Walnut blasting is a waste of money. The CRC stuff literally dissolves the carbon buildup. All you have to do afterwords is just wipe and/or suction it out of the runner (valves closed, obviously - for all the trolls).
Frame guy is coming next week if he is available. I have the new apron rail already. All that's left is to drill out the old one and weld the new one.Nice!! Excellent work so far.
I skipped a couple pages, so you might have already answered this, but, have you had a chance to get the frame checked out/straightened yet?
I want to see a progress pic!
Perfect. I can’t believe there isn’t any noise deadening on the metal panel. That’s what I was looking for. Looks like I’m dropping the headliner to put some in.Sure. Like this? View attachment 41002
