The $12000 GT2 stinger rebuild project

Please tell me you aren’t and the cat delete is just a joke!

From what I’ve seen cat deletes cause a los of power due to lack of back pressure.
That cat is too fat. I mean look how big it is compared to the turbo! Lol jk, the cats are wayyy down on my priority list. Might do mids for more sound but that's way later. Will for sure get a cat back though. Need something that can bolt on to that white and fluffy butt lol.

There is a lot of room in the engine bay when you take a bunch of stuff out. I can basically stand in it now. IMG_20200225_205602.webp
Gotta bag all the nuts unless you want to lose em.

What is it with "you americans" where you always have to add 10-15-20-30% of the price tag before you are done paying?

If im going to an auction and i bid 12K, i only pay 12k, and not "oh this fee and this feee and this tax and this" needs to be added too. Its up to the auction firm to pay those costs from the 12k i bid and possible won with.....
Well you see, in communist Sveden, VAT is included in the prices so that its hidden from the "stupid people". In America you are always reminded of the sales tax every time your purchase an item, which is a good thing.

Also I am planning my cat delete already.

Cat is not amused by your attempt at humor.

Everyone the tax is included on the price in sweden, because we have tax on tax on a bunch of stuff.

Also, we pay our servers a decent salary so they wont have to beg for tips to make a decent living. :D

Can we get a running tally of what this rebuild is costing as you go?
Sounds like KIA adopted German part pricing along with their performance.

Or, you know, they could acquire the skills to get a career that pays them better. I guess that's why there is not much upward movement in the Islamic Republic of Sveden. Even though I find Swedes weird as hell, I think we should stop the derail.

Good idea. So here it is so far:
Car = 13,008 + 250 broker + 1100 shipping + 40 tow = 14398.
Parts
Driver airbag $489.92
CF seibon hood $914.27
Right turbo + IC charge pipe + boost sensor $1,060
Right apron assembly $769.93
Radiator support $478.31
Right headlight $542.66
Headlight connector $125
Front Bumper cover + hood hinges + right fender cover $1013.19
Misc tools $70
Parts total so far $5463.28.
This would have been double if I had bought everything from the dealer.

Kudos on the rebuild project. Especially nice that you're posting the costs as the rebuild continues - most people wouldn't be willing to do so on a public forum. Please keep us updated with costs and progress along the way.

Wow....that's quite an undertaking. Looking forward to the updates.

Some people say the stinger does not need an oil catch can even when tuned. Those people are also stupid. No way this is "fine". IMG_20200229_163353.webp

Valves should not look like this after only 18k miles....... This is so sad. And people say you don't need an oil catch can. IMG_20200303_194212_043.webp

Why don't you just try and run a valve cleaner on your engine?
