Sunset Yellow Discussion

Finally turned mine in this last weekend. Service director advised car would go straight to auction, no repaint. Who knows what will happen with these. Now we wait to see how long it takes them to pay it off. I have made two payments over and above the payoff amount now.

FWIW, Morely was pretty bad to deal with...no one seems to do their job and no one cares what is convenient for the consumer. Was actually no showed on the first attempt to turn the car in and then made to drive 60 miles to another dealer for the next time. Such a damn joke.

Best of luck to those both keeping and getting rid of the car.

Anyway, sad to see it gone but couldnt stomach the paint issue as the price paid.

My accessories will be up for sale in the FS forum shortly.

Cheers

Why didn’t you get a reimbursement for the accessories too?

Some i did not have a "valid receipt" for in KMA opinion, the others they simply did not authorize?

Have you bought or buying a replacement car? (Sorry if you mentioned it before)

My husband knows a guy at work who purchased a yellow Stinger for his wife.Apparently it had paint issues, they were given a courtesy Stinger in the mean time while it was repainted. However, it was painted twice and the wife wasn't satisfied with the result so they surrendered it, got a refund and she purchased a yellow Mustang instead.

I was gonna say just choose a Stinger in another colour, but it's obvious the wife really wanted a yellow car, Snow White Pearl would have been a nice alternative for her, I find the Mustang gets old and boring real quick, there is too many of them on Aussie roads in such a short few years, I find the Stinger has elegant flowing curvy lines ending to some nice looking roundish hips to the rear, whereas the Mustang is squarishly boxy looking, and not to mention low safety rating, the Mustang is no longer a head turner to me, but we all know the Stinger is refreshingly young looking, with that classic Gran Turismo design and rear hatch practicality, and it's still a MYSTERY to a majority of people , who i am sure turn their heads at it on the road, and still asking " what the f...k was that thing"...haha, i am sure owners of Audi, BMW, Mercedes who are probably badge snobs and only driving those brands to show off their wealth are secretly envious of this car that is so fast and good looking, and gets noticed more than their expensive status symbols....lol.

yeah, she definitely wanted a yellow car alright. I like three colours in the Stinger and I kept changing my mind which one for a while ( woman's prerogative as they say) lol, I also originally liked the Mustang but when the crap safety rating was known, my hubby said " I'd be really disappointed if you brought one of those and really worried too " he showed me a couple of news articles were basically they had disintegrated on impact. Their not practical for our situation either and like you mentioned are a dime a dozen these days, nothing unique about them.I think it's great there are so many mods you can do to the Stinger to personalise it to one's own taste.I enjoy my Optima for the reason, it's not a common car that everyone's driving, although I notice more of them these days and wonder if people who can't afford Stingers are opting to buy the Optima's instead as you can get a turbo and sport version now.

I was super impressed with the Interior of the Optima Gt. When I went to put deposit down on the stinger I sat in a optima demo, the stinger wasn't out yet but I thought you couldn't go wrong with the Optima. They look good modded to. Now no more "M" word please:laugh::laugh::laugh:.

I actually didn't know you could mod them, thought the mods were just associated with the Stinger. The only thing Iv'e seen you can buy for the Optima is neon light thingies for the cup holders in the centre consol, originally I wanted one and my hubby said " really?" so I didn't bother

I was so close to purchasing a 2017 VFII Holden Commodore SS Redline, and I could have got one as a RESERVE EDITION , which was built exclusively for Holden employees, Yes, i am a former GM Holden employee who worked at Holden's Engine Operations at Port Melbourne, but lost my job in Nov 2016 when they closed the plant. I used to own a 1988 VL Holden Commodore Turbo BT1 Ex-Police Car, which was a 3.0ltr Nissan engine Turbocharged, most fun car to drive i have owned , i loved how the you could drive it gently, and then bring on the turbo performance when you wanted it, i sold it when i was in my late 30s for my current 2004 VZ Commodore, which i still use as a daily driver, and love it to this day, when this Stinger V6TT showed up, it reminded me of my 1988 VL , you can drive it normally as if the twin turbos are sleeping, but when you want to show some performance, wake them up...haha, i look at the Stinger in the same way as the 1988 VL like a ' wolf in sheeps clothing ', and by the way, proof i really liked the Stinger so much more than the VFII SS, i also have discount on new Holdens for life, yet i didn't use it, " Live Your Dreams " a saying from my favourite Aussie , King of the Mountain, Peter Perfect, the one and only Peter Brock, may you Rest In Peace.

Bro, what he said is absolutely true. I've had more people talk to me at gas stations, stop lights, and parking lots in 3 months than the last 16 years combined. You think people are going to be standing around a Mustang GT, Audi S4, or a 3 series BMW in a parking lot checking it out? Hell no, this has happened to me several times now when I've come out of stores.

If you actually owned a Stinger, you would know that, go troll some other car forum.

Picked up a Honda Civic to commute with for the time being. Also have an E46 M3 in the garage to fill the speed runs as needed. Jury is out on next car at the moment. I really would like another Stinger but if not Yellow or Orange than i am not interested.

Agreed here, i had WAY more attention in this car then i ever thought possible. And not just "car guys" either. Wife didnt believe me until we took a road trip to California and at almost every stop someone had a comment. She could not believe it. Even caught a few peeps taking pics of the car in La Jolla!

Its a shame on the paint but I am at peace with giving it back.

Does it have to be painted? What about a wrap? I'm constantly imagining my Silky Silver under that competition orange.

Some people on this forum are passionate and really enjoy their Stingers, what's wrong with that ? maybe you should settle down mate.
