PRESSERtech Kia Stinger GT Dyno RESULTS!!

Are you addressing torq limiters as both piggyback and ecu tunes thus far don’t seem to make the cars proportionately faster to the power increases..

I am all about applied power.. Regardless of power increases and dyno pulls.. This platform is still an enigma IMO

yes, we adjust the torque limiter. This car was a night and day transformation in power.

Looking forward to seeing more, that's for sure.

As someone who is a noob to tuning, but is very interested, how does a tune effect the daily driving of the car? Do you still get smooth lower band power? Does it murder your gas mileage under similar driving conditions? Am I cutting the life of the power train in half? Does it break any settings or features in the car, or require any weird extra steps?

I've also heard spark gapping concerns. Whether or not their justified, I'd like to see if you have problems as you approach 3-4k miles on the tuned car.

We understand any concerns owners have as no longevity results are in. This is not our first development project and our history and reputation can help put your mind at ease in this area. We will keep you updated with anything along the way. You will still have your around town comfort in low load ranges.

As your question about hurting engine by tuning, we have no reason to believe this, we are optimizing the efficiency of the car and the consequences are increase in power and BETTER fuel economy.

We are tuning this car just like we would Mercedes w205 C43 AMG. This platform is extremely similar. We have extensive testing on all our European cars we do with no problems. We do not sell our product until we are happy with development. We have confidence that the Stinget GT will not disappoint in reliability, efficiency, power, AND track times.

As far as gap and spark plugs are concerned, our testing shows no potential failure as of this post. Car as of today 1200 miles since tune. We DO NOT see the argument on this area and will not comment on any reasons why we should.

You all should hear from us by 4pm EST on Monday with our baseline, video proving baseline and tuned, and 0-60 mph times.

The numbers look reasonable but shocked you dont have a baseline. Especially on a hot day and variations in dynos its harder to evaluate.
RWD or AWD? AWDs baseline at +10 hp and +2 lbs boost.
How much boost does this run?

The problem with what you're saying is we have no idea what your particular dyno readouts would say about a stock Stinger. For all we know the car could have made 500 hp on your dyno prior to the tune and actually LOST power after it.

Regarding the spark plugs, I know you want to keep things simple and cheap as possible for your potential customer but it has been shown time and again that the stock plugs/gap are not sufficient when boost is increased. Many companies have said no plug modifications are needed and they've all been proven wrong. You may want to reconsider this before people start buying your tune.

Good luck.
Agree on the plugs. Just because 1 car hasnt had problems doesnt mean problems wont happen. I ran the best reputation chip for 4 months with no issues and sold it and the buyer cracked his plugs and coil in the first week on stock plugs.

These numbers are godly! Cant wait to see what your baseline stats on the same car reads for the stock flash. If its truly that massive of an increase ill be in when your car hits 5k on the road.

These numbers are typical of other ECU and piggy back tunes. Good to see another ECU tuner out there.
On the dynojet the RWD should make 335hp and the AWD 345.
My AWD with catback and k&n panel made 353 hp SAE (dynojet) and after another companys ECU tune made 407hp.
Another customer with AWD stock made 345 and with ECU and intake went to 401HP.
This ECU dyno here doesnt have the extra mods and the intake or catback are good for 10-15 hp.

Very interesting! Will continue to watch very closely here!! In addition to 0-60, any plans to do 1/4 mile testing? Also very curious as to if elevation has any effect on your tune? Close to 4000 ft elevation here and only access to 91 octane fuel would wonder if that might cause any problems?

Hi, 91 octane is fine. As far as elevation goes, we would optimize for that elevation in your tune.

Awesome! I like the looks of this!! Hope everything keeps going smoothly for y'all. Looking forward to some more numbers!

I’m interested in the better fuel economy.

I can't wait for later today, I am looking forward to this tune. I tune my cars every chance I get and I can sense the potential within my new GT2 AWD for more power. Manufactures ALWAYS leave untapped potential.

Okay guys, we ran the baseline on dyno this morning. We are just waiting for the admin to upload the graph. Max wheel HP was 335HP and max wheel torque was 391LbFt. The conditions were a bit better today with ambient temp around 83 degree F, humidity was at 64%.

Increases show 60HP & 57LbFt at wheels.

We are using our lowest power on all the runs for tune and highest power on stock too give modest estimates. If you buy our upgrade and test you will put out better gains.

Our 0-60, in conditions today:

Best stock time was 5.2secs
Best tuned time was 4.4secs

Obviously, both these times would be much better in late fall winter and early spring. This is the middle of summer so times are sluggish. Same with dyno runs. We will go back in cooler weather and run again.

Thanks for posting that.

Doing a rough translation back to crank HP, this does seem to agree with most other baseline testing, that Kia was conservative in their published numbers.

Very nice! Looks to be the real deal.

Would like to see the owner run a 1/4 on the aggressive tune now. ;)

Hi, yes, we will offer a discount. Please contact us directly. We will need a copy of military id. Thanks!

We are preparing the video to prove the dyno pulls. It should be live on our website, Facebook page and YouTube this evening.
