PRESSERtech Kia Stinger GT Dyno RESULTS!!

It’s hard to say and see how the power curve is compared to stock without a dyno run on the same car without the tune.
This... Everything I have ever read states that every dyno even within the same brand are somewhat different and to only compare the gains of the same car on the same dyno. Just google "mustang dynamometer vs dynojet" Therefore IMO these stated numbers are worthless.

They may be spot on, maybe, but you are using calculated losses, you have correction factors, and then there is the question of the dyno's calibration. These are really baseless numbers. An unscrupulous vendor can make them say whatever you want. We really need before and after runs.

Hopefully someone somewhere along the way will be able to fill in the gaps. Glad to see more ECU tuning options for the car!

Wild Bill anyone ever tell you just to say what you are thinking? I feel like you dance around the subject too much.

This may have been answered but if so I missed it; is the tune detectable by the service department? If for some reason they need to reflash the ECU, will it overwrite the tune?
The service department would not be able to see anything that would tell them its been tuned by hooking up their diagnostic tool. Only way they will know is if they drive. It may be possible for them to overwrite with an update. We do, however, offer our software modifications re-flashing at no charge. We can also flash it back to stock at no charge. You would only pay shipping.

We are looking for a good source to buy new computers to offer as an additional ECU. One will be stock the other with your tune

I would just hate to see people buy a product that could possibly be misrepresented.

I am happy to see more tuners dig in to the Stinger and do ECU tunes for the car. The results should be a good deal better and far safer than a piggyback / uncle box.

I have never heard of PRESSERtech and to this point have not found the time to do the legwork to investigate there history, reputation, etc. So that's bad on me. I came from the Suby world with a Legacy GT where COBB was known and trusted and they pretty much owned the market. There are thousands of people with their OTS tunes and hundreds of posts showing before and after results of OTS tunes, custom tuning, intercoolers, injectors, turbos, you name it.

So if PRESSERtech does not provide the info perhaps an owner will have the means to gather and share the before and after. I've seen it many many times in the past where the unknowns get filled in by the community of owners. From what I've seen, we have that type of dynamic here on the forum. It's really impressive for a car that's been out for just over 6 months.

We'll get you a baseline on the same car reflashed to stock hopefully next week. Cheers.

The data we need is already stored on the ECU. A baseline dyno is only needed when you have no idea what you have to start with. Most baselines are based on stock. Hope this makes sense. Cheers.

The problem with what you're saying is we have no idea what your particular dyno readouts would say about a stock Stinger. For all we know the car could have made 500 hp on your dyno prior to the tune and actually LOST power after it.

Regarding the spark plugs, I know you want to keep things simple and cheap as possible for your potential customer but it has been shown time and again that the stock plugs/gap are not sufficient when boost is increased. Many companies have said no plug modifications are needed and they've all been proven wrong. You may want to reconsider this before people start buying your tune.

Good luck.

These numbers are godly! Cant wait to see what your baseline stats on the same car reads for the stock flash. If its truly that massive of an increase ill be in when your car hits 5k on the road.

Yea, Ima jump on the boat with needing more info.

Any Joe Smoe can post a dyno sheet. I can make one in photoshop.

You know they call a Dynojet the "Dreammaker"....

I'm not saying this isn't legit in some way, shape, or form but I would never trust my approaching 60k car based on what you provided here. And shame on you if you're selling this to people who don't know any better.

Exactly - What did the car pull on the dyno stock to the tires and what did it make tuned to the tires (RWHP)?

I wouldnt go shaming them just yet lol. The company seems pretty legitimate and their efforts towards other high end cars seem proof enough to give them the benefit of the doubt... but just not my money yet :D

Gentlemen, we've said in this thread that we will get the baseline for you and we will as soon as possible. Hopefully it will be by Monday afternoon.

On another note, we are professional tuners. The nature of this business is to have difference in opinions and questions from members of this forum. I would respectfully ask that you give us the opportunity to prove our worth rather than make judgement. I only ask this in a sense of fair play. We want this to be successful, it has been and we will do what is necessary to prove it.

Many thanks for your understanding.

Scott

Again good luck and please reconsider your stock plugs/gap stance.

Hi Kamauxx, To answer your question, we don't have any stance and we will definitely monitor it. That said, the test car is running absolutely perfect at the moment and is driven daily. Yesterday the car had a thousand miles on it and we will continue to monitor. We won't bury our heads in the sand and we will make any adjustments necessary but as of the time of writing this, we don't see a reason. Cheers.

Definitely will be watching this! I'm only about 2.5 hours away in Upstate SC, so when I do finally get to make some upgrades this would be GREAT since ya'll are so close. Couple of minor things to sort out first......like a few (15-20) chips in the paint for Kia to sort....lol. I will say thank you for being up front and at least giving us other options and the opportunity to earn our business. Your website looks great and seems like your MB customers are thrilled with the work you do. Don't write us off yet, lol, we know it's virgin territory with the car and what it is capable of, but also nobody knows what the point is where metal bits fly everywhere and I know that no one here is none to keen on finding out.

Keep us updated and thank you again for letting us know what you can do!
