Hi All,

We’re just following up as promised on the Stinger GT Performance Tune we did a couple of weeks ago. We knew the Kia was impressive, but we weren’t sure of the numbers. We had some in the back of our minds and in the seat of our pants after driving but as you all know, the proof is when you get to the dyno.

Conditions were certainly harsh as you’d expect for a summer day in Atlanta. The humidity was 63% and the temperature was a mere 94F inside the shop. We tried our best to keep the car as cool as possible by running three fans, but it was still a little heat soaked.

Well, while expecting to make excuses for the weather, the Kia did what it did all along and simply impressed the hell out of us. We couldn’t be happier with the results.

The Kia Stinger GT has 365HP and 376LBS-FT Torque at the crank. We can adjust that, at the wheels by decreasing 15%.

Our test vehicle was in 5th gear which has a 1:00-1 ratio and its wheels were turning 130MPH when it reached its peak of 459 Horsepower and 522LBS-FT of Torque. Even adjusted, we are thrilled with the results. It is simply amazing what Kia have accomplished with this car!

So, there you have it;

Kia Stock numbers: 365HP and 376LBS-FT

Pressertech Numbers: 459HP and 522LBS-FT

The only difference from Stock is a K & N High Flow Air Filter.

We are pricing our full upgrade at $1250 Stage 1 / Intermediate tune at $950

You’ll see from our Dyno graph that it uses the more modest SAE correction...

THIS CAR IS INCREDIBLE!

Question:
Intermediate tune imply????
Thanks

Impressive, indeed! Glad to see another option available, and great looking results.

Most independent testing has shown Kia's published numbers of 365 HP/376 Lb-Ft (at the crank) to be conservative. What numbers did you get on your dyno as a baseline for that car, before the dyno run with the tuned ECU you published above?

Also, what octane gas did you run for the test?

We used 93 octane but the tune can handle 91 with no problem. Maybe a few HP/TQ off but not much. We actually didn't do a baseline because they're readily available online. I would say that temperature and humidity play a part but from the numbers I've seen, Kia's published numbers are pretty accurate.

Intermediate tune aka Stage 1 is 400HP and 450LBS FT
Thank you.
Seems to me that 400 HPs and MPG would be more than enough, when in my country, the 92 gallon price is $4.5 US....aprox...

I’m a noob at this stuff. The only hardware change was the internal air filter, not the whole intake system. No plugs or exhaust or other accessories. I’m assuming a chip box or some type in the middle but no other external “things.” True? Amazing!
So essentially, Kia could do this from factory if they wanted to make a special edition.

Thanks for the prompt reply! Glad to hear that 91 octane is not a problem, as higher isn't readily available around these parts.

I am somewhat puzzled why you wouldn't establish a baseline for your development car - especially as your website emphasizes your custom tunes, based on individual car performance data.

Forgive me for my ignorance here as I have never tuned a car before...but you were able to get 459HP out of the Stinger with an electronic tune and a new air filter? This tune all happens in the OBD port, correct?

You are correct Joseph. No other modifications besides the air filter and the ECU Tune. We don't believe in add-on boxes. We tune the stock software on the ECU to make it better all around. Kia could definitely do this but it couldn't do it for a worldwide audience.

No ODB tuning. This is tuning the actual ECU.

No Joseph. The car ECU is tuned, no other electronic device is attached. Just a better air filter, if want install it.

The data we need is already stored on the ECU. A baseline dyno is only needed when you have no idea what you have to start with. Most baselines are based on stock. Hope this makes sense. Cheers.

I will say this though guys, given that we've tuned so many high end cars from top of the line Mercedes to McLaren's, this car is a serious piece of work. I really can't believe the build quality for the price you pay. This car will beat the hell out of say a 2014 Mercedes CLS550 and it's about half the price. To say its impressive doesn't do it justice.

Just 15 miles from my home..

Lucky, lucky, LUCKY!!!!

Hi Jonathan. Because we tune the ECU, we don't need your car present. You can remove your ECU and send it in to us and we guarantee a 24 hour turn around time. We can also accommodate same day service with overnight delivery back to most customers as long as we get the ECU before 10.30AM (and know in advance that it's coming) at no additional charge other than overnight delivery costs.

I would do this in an absolute heartbeat!! I've tuned my last 7 vehicles, most recently a M-B C300 tuned in exactly the same way as you describe by Kleemann USA. Your tuning results are making this VERY appealing!!! Unfortunately.....(from another thread)......

Found out yesterday that my niece (more like a daughter to me) was accepted to a post secondary school Diagnostic Medical Sonography program--one of six positions offered to first time applicants straight out of high school (out of a class of twenty) in a program that sees 850 applicants (she finished her last high school semester with a 94 average). Sadly, her divorced mother cannot afford the education costs, and her father has engineered it so she does not qualify for any government assistance. I cannot let such a brilliant mind go to waste, so I will be funding her education. As such, no intakes or any other car mods for at least a year, maybe longer.
