Open windows with remote

My 2023 GT2 RWD doesn't have this feature and it has everything except the AWD. The same mention of the remote window operation appears in my manual along with the (If equipped) notation, but it does not work. My guess is that programming for this is probably embedded in the software but perhaps not enabled at the factory or in some secret maintenance menu (???) but who knows. I'm not sure that I would use it as my car is not parked outside in the heat where I'd be looking to remotely vent the air but it would be nice if it worked just in case.

in your settings/vehiclesettings/door, do you have any remote window options? 2022 forte has it.. lol. this is just me being curious.... i have a 2020 so definitely don't have it...

All I have under that menu is if I want to unlock only 2 doors or all 4 doors and the power lift gate options.....open speed, smart lift gate, and how high it should open. Nothing about remote windows and I double checked by pressing the unlock button on the FOB and holding it for a full 8 seconds....nothing. So it is probably either a feature in certain year models or selling areas or it is a feature that has to be enabled within some hidden maintenance and tech menu.

The manual says if fitted......some other Kia models have it but not the Stinger.
My Stinger has it.
My old 2002 Nissan Pathfinder had it, as did my 2006 Altima. It's not a new car feature by any means.
My 2017 Mazda does not though. Bummer. It's useful in the summer to vent out the hot air before getting in the car.

Hmm it must be aftermarket. My Kia Service Rep I was speaking with today says it was never factory fitted to any Stinger worldwide ever.

I disagree with your service advisor. I’m in Canada and I have a stock 2022 GT Elite (GT2) and the windows go down with the remote (checked it out yesterday).

seeing as they added "if fitted" in 22+ models owners manual, obviously it is country specific. canada got it, usa didn't.. lol. even though it probably would have been more useful down south..

If fitted referred to their global cut and pastes I think for any Kia.

I would be interested to see it work

Lets see them post a video.

Why would you have a roll down feature in a cold country like Canada and not a hot country like Australia

Summers in Canada can be hot. Where I live in Ottawa we can see more than 35 deg C. Toronto is even warmer (+40 deg C). When I lived in the praires, I would joke that the temperature range was -40 to +40 deg C.

The Canada Stinger Brochures do not mention remote windows....they mention everything else.

Funny that

This is it in action on mine...

It is useful and I tend to use it whenever the car's been sitting in direct sun when we have hot weather (which when you live in the UK seems like once every decade)

Or when I visit and the hotel doesn't have air-conditioning.

The rule in Australia is ridiculously simple and stupid.

It is illegal in Queensland, NSW and Victoria to leave windows down on an unattended vehicle.

So the Stinger does not get remote windows.

Wrong.
Your Kia Rep is sadly misinformed. Maybe show him this thread, and the video from Stanger21.
My 2023 has it, and the feature is written up in the owner's Manual, page 4-34.PXL_20240218_172415750.webp

Yep

"if equipped"

The Australian manuals says exactly the same

It is not fitted

I was at the dealership today.

They don't believe it.

Someone lying on their back in the driver's seat?

But it is the one feature missing.....

What do you mean "they don't believe it"?
I can assure you that it is enabled on my car (Canada).
Show them this thread and the video. If they still don't believe it, then that's their problem.

We're all jealous mate

There is no logical reason not to include that feature certainly on the highest spec and the last My23 Stingers but it's not.

It is the ONE feature I would use every day.........

Start the car, roll down the windows on a hot day, blow the hot air out.

I would like to see the Canada brochure it is in.

I have one here but does not mention the remote windows and it is the last MY23 Stinger supplied to Canada so you would EXPECT it to be in there.

I google and google and no-one has it except in this forum....

I agree with GTF - I'd use this feature all the time if I had it. I was surprised it wasnt included in our Stingers. BMWs have had it for more than 20 years, and plenty of other cars available in Australia have it too. That said, GTF is right about Australian laws re windows down on an unattended vehicle.

I was also surprised given all the useful and premium-ish tech that we do get as standard compared to some other regions, especially when the refresh was released.

Things like the remote start, cooled seats, heated steering wheel, the ambient lighting, the fact that we don't have the auto stop/start feature. I was expecting the refresh to have remote windows given it had an all new & flashy infotainment sytem, cameras in the rear vision mirrors, and the whole taillight design.

Also odd that we did not get the sequential indicators. Australian Ford Mustangs have the sequential indicators deleted - though I think that's due to the indicator lighting display overriding the red taillights themselves - however there are plenty of Euro cars here that do retain their sequentials so I thought that feature would be included on our Aus cars.
