It seems if my car sits even just for short period of time and you back out of the driveway and proceed to drive it will make a short grinding noise on initial acceleration going forward. Anyone else have this issue? It’s 2018
Yes just like that
Yes...I have this! Exactly as you say and a 2018 for me as well. I have no idea what it is, I was thinking maybe it was the springs or struts or something unloading or loading or something doing something funky. It seems if my car sits even just for short period of time and you back out of the driveway and proceed to drive it will make a short grinding noise on initial acceleration going forward. Hmmmm...I never thought of that or heard of that (I'm not a car guy, more of a tv watcher guy). I'd imagine this is standard across our cars or even others? It may not matter, but I had the stock rotors before...it did it. I have cross drilled and slotted and it still does it. Can it be "fixed"?Could just be rotor build up from sitting and clears up after a few brake presses
It's just surface rust. It's not an issue or fixable unless you garage it. Doesn't hurt anything. Only cause for concern is if it always stays and a wheel is hotter than the others which generally indicates a stuck pad/caliper (for reference) but not your current issue based in what you've mentionedHmmmm...I never thought of that or heard of that (I'm not a car guy, more of a tv watcher guy). Surface rust.. if it doesn’t rain and I got into a store for say 10 minutes and come out it will do it.. or if there was zero rain and it’s morning it will do it.. even noticed when I turn the wheel it does it too at the startIt's just surface rust. Why don't you try to back into the garage or driveway. When you then the next day drive forward out of the garage or the driveway, do you still experience the grinding sound? Maybe worth a try.every time i back out
Nope. Only happens when I reverse first. Why don't you try to back into the garage or driveway. When you then the next day drive forward out of the garage or the driveway, do you still experience the grinding sound? Maybe worth a try.
nah it doesn't do it when you shift. its when you start moving. After you've moved a foot or 2, you hear it.Push harder on the brakes when shifting from R to D or vice versa?
Ever figure this out? Mine’s done it twice now and I’m worried its the diff or powertrain related. Its such a short duration and has only happened twice in the past week so I cant fully tell where its coming fromnah it doesn't do it when you shift. its when you start moving. nope. 3 years into ownership, it still does it every time I reverse out of my garage and then put in in drive and start rolling forward. Did it before and after getting a new transmission and drive shaft (those were replaced because of unrelated issues)Ever figure this out?
