• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Australia Bi-Modal Exhaust Updates

Did we find the full install documentation?

I'm curious if I do a spare ECU tune, it may have my bimodal settings that would need to be copied.

I thought I saw the operation mode document but not the install.

He only shared the operational guide (page 14). What the guys ate looking for is to explore the whole document. All of the 14 pages.

Anybody know the weight and dimensions of the box the exhaust comes in? I'm exploring the possibility of buying one from an Aussie dealer and having it shipped to Canada for installation in my car, but I need the weight and dimensions to estimate and arrange shipping. I've contacted a dealership in Australia and asked them, but no response so far, a week later.

I've got the box it came in, with the stock exhaust in it. I'll check if there's a shipping label with weight on it when I get home, can also measure the dimensions. It's very small as it's in two parts, it fit in the back of my stinger easy to take home.

I'm quite happy with the Bi-Modal exhaust. It doesn't terrify neighbourhoods but it adds the extra something that was missing...particularly on manual downshifts which sound very cool. Being able to cruise on the highway in near silence = best of both worlds.

Hey there @Damien Tech, glad to hear your Stinger sounds much better with that Bi-modal exhaust, may i ask which colour you purchased, and where in Australia you live.
I just saw you have Aurora Black, very nice.

I'm west of the Gold Coast. Sig updated. I just picked up the Stinger yesterday and today I pulled into my street and it looks like a guy a few doors down from me had just picked up a red one.

Looks like you just made a friend, if so pass on the forum to him :)

Have the bimodal installed so whats to stop me modifying the flap to just stay open 100% of the time?

Has anyone tried the Borla or Tubi Style exhausts? Which is the bestexhaust for these cars?

There is a member here that is waiting to receive its Tubi Style. There are also a few that have installed the borla.

If you do a search on the forums you can find clips for the Borla, Ark grip, Tubi style, Magna flow, Varex, Bi-modial and Jun BL. Ive opted for the Ark grip that's my preference, its still on order a little held up ive heard.

Hi Ozstung
The ARK exhaust sounds nice, I noticed they have a 30% sale on them until the End of the month. I also like the raw sound of the Borla but I have heard they have drone issues.
Do we have any decent local options without having to import from the states ? Between shipping and GST they end up quite pricey.

Thanks !!

Hi D-c , just gave you a welcome under the other thread:p. Coincidentally I just rang the Ark dealer in Sydney asking how much longer!! It doesn't look like I'll be getting it before Mid August at this rate.

If you're pressed for time you may consider the varex system it has a push button control for loud to quite option, it is cat back and sounds damn nice. Tony's mufflers here in Sydney installs and theres little to no wait time. You'll find the you tube clip here on the forum if you do a search. From memory it been posted here twice.

I don't mind waiting for the right product ;)
Do they sell the ARK exhausts locally through the dealer in Sydney or did you order from the states ?

Cheers

Still think you should keep away from a button that switches the exhaust on and off, it feels very backwards.
Id wait till there are more stingers on the road and exhaust systems will begin to flood the market.

Im not that impressed with the kia bi-modal wish i had waited now.

Ozstung Tony's set up does sound nice and apparently gives a nice power increase, Thanks for the info.
Not the cheapest at 2860 plus shipping but it comes with remote and bi-modal so probably not that pricey considering you get to switch it or have it halfway between loud and quiet. !!

Yes, I contacted Ark in the USA through the details found here. They advised there were two dealers, one in Victora: Import monster and in NSW: Garage 88. Quotes from both were about the same.
