About that Kia badge...

Are there any alternatives?
Not really , I did read that one our Aussie friends filled the holes with silicone first , just be carefull and you'll make it . Worste case , take it to an autobody shop to do for you , the Stinger badge is actually in 2 pieces but joined by the double sided tape . I made a level template by taping a strip of masking tape parallel to the trunk lip , it made eyeballing the application much easier ................good luck ! .................are you putting the E badge on the front , If so you need to remove one position lug from it to fit properly , side cutters or a dremel will do it

the stinger text trunk badge is the way to go. there are other alternatives but none are nearly as attractive. just be careful or have somebody do it with a steady hand. if you don't you'll eventually see stingers around with that text badge and you'll wish you had it.

I just ordered mine, going to have a shop put it on for me

Does anyone know if on the US stingers, on the trunk, the original Stinger word emblem has any kind of special positioning lug?

Seems like this has been asked and answered quite a few times.
The US car does not have the stinger script only the Korean one does.
The US car does have mounting holes for the Kia badge.
The Korean stinger script does not have any lugs that match the holes in the US car. You will have to measure and mask and line it up manually.

The US car has a stinger script, its a small one on the lower left side

did you get it produced ? any pics ?

Uh, no ... I'm not sure how to proceed. I made myself the 3D model to see it's looks rendered in varieties and to test out how to proceed. You can print it out and apply some acetone aftertreatment to get the surfaces smoother ... but I atm doubt i can get any proper, smooth paintjob onto it, but I'm not sure. otherwise I wouldn't know what to do with it...

So from a distance everyone thinks it's a poxy BMW??? No thanks!!!

This one of course :) As it shares quite a few character bits with the BMW one. I find it far prettier than the silly boring oval KIA lettering. Another option is to go full fantasy, but keeping the name KIA in there somewhere so it doesn't look like a silly whatever badge.

I had a feeling. Thanks. Yes, hehe, it does look a bit BMW'ish... :p

Honestly IMHO , it borrows way too much from BMW . the roundel

Yeah but it is what we got ... there's no other attractive original badge. I don't like the "E" at all ... the Oval KIA lettering is as boring and eggshaped unsporty as it can be ... so this is the only elegant one. Unless we go full fantasy, where you'll be thought ashamed for the brand.

I've always liked the Korean KIA badge and I've seen them in person .. they do look pretty nice

(didn't filter through 12 pages to see if anybody posted this already)

Yeah that's the typical "Kia K Logo 3.0" aftermarket badge .. there's a gazillion variants on ebay and aliexpress. With really crappy finish and others okay (i.d personally coat all of them myself first with 2K Spraymax or so since many fail in winter conditions etc). it's okay, but the right side heavyness is somewhat strange to me and it's easily confused with Lexus on a quick glance. Plus nothing official, with nothing really saying Kia, which leads back to the "are you ashamed of your kia" questions, which I find annoying.

I honestly just thought the KIA badge was ugly ~
I didn't realize they weren't official, such a shame.
I actually liked that logo when I first saw it on the road.

I put these on mine, getting a lot of (positive) comments. Love the look on peoples faces as they try to work out what the hell make it is - and they're still very rare around here. Only seen one other and that was in an airport carpark.
