2019 Map Update now available online

Website did mention for 2020/21 models of Seltos and maybe Cerato or Sorento that there was no SD card and had to be done via usb. Might be the 2019 models too. Doesn’t appear to affect newer models of Stinger.

Yes, but the wife’s Cerato is is the model before it’s a YD 2017.

It looks like Kia is rolling out a new (*very* new: the app terms and conditions are dated November 16, 2020) version of the software and map updater as of a few days ago, at Navigation Updater | Official Kia Motors Navigation Update Website. I read on another forum that this version doesn't require an account to be created, and the software looks a lot nicer/easier to use. It also seems to support both the standard 17-20 infotainment version (Gen5) and the latest widescreen one (Gen5W). I tried using it to update an old (2019) version of my Stinger software on a duplicate SD card without luck, but that might just be me.

Although i'd already completed the upgrade i went to that site more out of curiosity and successfully downloaded to hard drive. Next step would be to copy to SD then install in car. Site was very easy to use and doesn't require user registration or vehicle VIN. Seems it caters for all KIA models that use an SD card.
Adam, suggest you delete your first attempt and try again.

Yep, I managed to get it working by removing the SD card from my PC. Then it allowed me to select a version (I used CK_19MY.AUS.SOP.004.1.190403.STD_M) and download to SSD. So much easier to use than the older Smart Update Manager software.

They must also be pointing at different servers with the newer app, as the SUM update download maxed out at 5MB/s, but with the new one I got over 50MB/s and downloaded in around two minutes.

This is heaps better to use. Thanks, this also fixed my account issue with updating.

Yes, thanks for pointing this out. As you'll know, in NZ we could only get the updates from the dealer before, no User login as in AUS.
So I've just done my first update myself now, was bricking it until it finished though.
Maybe the dealers didn't want customers rolling up every 6 months for their updates going forward.
Anyway thanks again. I'm going to download the update for my wife's Cerato now - on a roll.

I also think the DAB radio sounds louder on the same volume setting.

I’ll say new, don’t recall seeing that before, which now confirms what another member said about 360 camera being brighter.

When camera view is on there's a settings icon in bottom right that brings up another menu. Select "Display Settings" and you have options to change brightness and contrast for day/night.

I know, my dealer says it is, there will be hell to pay if they waste my time.

It's one of the only things I can guarantee to get from my dealer....wasted time. I rarely get anything else.

Thanks mate found it, no I don’t recall seeing that before, I note the night adjustment is greyed out, may have to adjust when it’s night.

I am not sure that I will ever use those new background sound affects - maybe it will be useful to calm nervous passengers one day.

I did night in basement carpark, set brightness and contrast to max. Seems to make a big difference.
