• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Stinger GT Arrivals in Australia

Hello everyone !

Just received the call from the dealer that my car will be ready for pick up tomorrow (somehow) !

Absolutely stoked. Now just need to sell my old car .

Excitement is building !
Lucky you. Mine was on the same ship as yours. Last communication two days ago was that mine was still in the compound in Brisbane.
I hope you enjoy your new car.
Cheers,
H

I wouldn't use Canada as a barometer, we have an unusual feature/colour mix, for example we don't have the red leather option anymore, and when we did it was only offered it with Snow White Pearl. (IIRC) No 2.0, or 2.5L option, only AWD, etc. I think its sales data driven, they just didn't have enough orders in that colour to keep bringing it in - I rarely see any Stinger in any colour than black, or thunder grey.

The wait will be worth it for you
Hi. RedCal,
Are Canadians able to purchase Stingers in the US at a better price than where you are?

Normally US cars are priced lower than Canadian ones, but the dollar exchange wipes out any possible savings. The Stinger is the only car that I know of that is priced better here that the US! and up until recent models "better" features. The other big difference at the moment is it is as I understand it illegal to sell over MSRP in Canada so you don't see huge "market adjustments" on Canadian cars

So my car has not been built and is awaiting shipping. I have a VIN! I’m sure this has been asked in many pages previously, but can I only track it once I know the name of the ship?

You can plug your VIN into the following to find where it's at:

1651096179334.webp

Having said that, I was told over two weeks ago my GT was on a ship on it's way to Australia, and the status on the e2 tracking website hasn't changed in that time with the Consignment Status listed as "To Be Confirmed".

Picked up my GT this morning from the dealer. Ceramic Grey; Red Interior trim. At last.
Nice, I will have the same colour-combo (even though my oldest daughter says the Ceramic Grey looks crap, well she won't be driving it.)
Dealer told me I can pick mine up next weekend.
I'm hoping I still have the original price locked in from Sep21, $67,690.
When you were with the Dealer, any gotchas or aha moments to be aware of?

Yesterday I was told that my Stinger GT should now be delivered at the end of May. (A month ago I was told probably late Apr/early May) I ordered it at the end of Oct '21.

Dealership experience was super chill when I picked up mine. Price was honoured from when I ordered it ($66.5 I think), they have to request price protection from Kia though since the costs have gone up, but that part isn't your problem.

It won't be long. I ordered mid October. Was told July. I picked it up last Friday. It was totally worth the wait.
...and was the wait worth it? :sneaky:

All my kids and neighbours love the Ceramic Grey, and the red Nappa leather interior is absolutely beautiful!! I bought mine for $67,890. If that was on the contract you signed, then that's what you will pay. That's guaranteed under Australian Consumer Law.
Cheers,
Mate.
No bullshit from the dealer, but they did the minimum to make the delivery a special occasion, like when you pick up a new Benz. But, what the heck, they didn't build this beautiful car; only flogged it.

It's probably already here waiting for you?

I agree - the red interior is absolutely gorgeous! Even having owned mine for almost three years, I still get a thrill out of looking at it.

Without wishing to offend those forum members who ordered the black interior, the red simply transforms the car. In my opinion, it makes the car feel so special - and makes black interiors seem rather common and ordinary.

Hell yeh! Drove down to the Gold Coast for dinner last night. What a great ride!! Better than my Mercedes C250.
You'll love it.
Snap! Coming from a C250 as well. Ordered within a week of you too but in Pearl Snow white with red Interior. Almost a perfect match Harlequin.

Haha - a friend of mine had a C300 with the AMG, COMAND, Vision and Seat Packages plus adaptive suspension; he test-drove a Stinger and immediately traded-in his Merc.
Yes I have all those packages, except the AMG package, on my C250. Both beautiful cars but the Stinger is very hard to beat for price.

My dealer has informed me that my new Stinger is on a ship and expected here in 4 weeks. :sneaky:

Opie, our cars might be on the same ship?
