PRESSERtech tune review

I'm actually going to go in on Friday to do this tune with Weistec. I have a jb4 now w/out fuel wires and it's only set to map1. It's decent as a power/boost upgrade but isn't as smooth as previous ecu tunes I've had on other vehicles. They are local to me and will experiment with this reputable tuner until I see more of the kagantuned/alphaspeed charts/info.

It's a mild tune, but still more than what I get currently with the Jb4.
I look forward to hearing your feedback about the Weistec tune, and do you know if they've tuned other Stingers and have mapped out the ECU tables? I know a reputable local tuner down here in FL that tuned two Stingers, but he wasnt familiar with all the tables and those Stingers are slower than all the JB4/Lap3 Stingers I know.

Also, I have to know why you ran the JB4 without fuel wires and only on map1??? Did you at least run the OBDII connection to allow the JB4 to run correctly?

FYI- The fuel wires make a considerable difference in performance and running the extra rich stock AFR with extra boost was probably a main reason why it wasnt running smoothly. Few people complained about hesitation while not running the AFR adjustments and the OBDII connection.

But good luck either way and hope Weistec does a better job than other independent tuners that claim they can tune anything.

If i remember correctly Nick_Khar had this tune when it first came out like 2 years ago. He only did it for the dyno as he was going to be using the protuner.

The short and sweet, I was on the jb4 much sooner than most on the forum which was a little before all the goodies were being offered and before lost of the updates occurred. Also never had a piggyback so it was experimenting before a true ecu tune (took much longer than expected). Map1 bc I don’t have access to 93+ in CA and boostane gets expensive.

the only one I know of that had the Weistec tune was @NICK_KHAR before he switched up to the piggyback. Boost, ignition timing, afr are mainly the changes made.

Be sure to update your JB4 if it has old firmware. A LOT of changes have been made lol.

I understand but the fuel wires have been out for a very long time, and they became completely plug & play sometime last year. Also, I believe the OBDII connector has always come with the JB4 and should be used for best performance. And lastly, Terry ran map2 on 91 and got 417whp with intakes only using that fuel. Did you take logs and Terry said you shouldnt run map2?

I know those are the main parameters tuners adjust in the ECU but was just saying there are thousands of tables that adjust those settings based on all types of variables. Thats why its best to have someone that has spent time learning and adjusting many of those tables instead of just blanket updates to boost, AFR and timing, etc. Thats one of the main advantages of a full ECU tune, but if they dont do that then you may be stuck with a under performing ECU tune like my two Stinger friends that used a tuner without enough experience with our cars and regret it now.

But again I hope it works out and let us know how it comes out!

Hey guys! We are here. We have been swamped with an in house stage 3 build on an AMG s65. We tell our high end clirnts about the stinger gt all the time. You all will see write ups on our website after the new year when we update our site! Hope everyone had a great holiday and you all have a kick ass new year!
I would love to see what numbers you get on a Stage 2, Tune in the Stinger GT a AWD , as I am very interested in a 94 to 98 octane tune for my Stinger GT

Nice.
Another benefit is that you do not need to change or gap plugs and you will get really impressive MPG, I think this is a testament to the efficiency of Todd's tune.
I drove to Las Vegas last year in the middle of the night and averaged 100 mph and still got 20 MPG.
On the way back there was traffic so I averaged 80 mph and got 22 MPG.
Keep in mind that I was driving it hard so to me this was impressive.
that is indeed not bad mileage ,,
I am thinking to perhaps go in that direction if I can send in my ECU for a stage 2 tune as well , I will try to contact him !!

Terry just wondering , can the JB4 be dialed in correctly using a tuner to read the logs on the AWD dyno ,,and what would the highest AWD WHP on 94 to 98 Octane using the JB4 system ????? just checking my options :)

Spoke briefly with Pressuretech this morning and their numbers are at the crank hp and torque values not whp ! Their stage 2 runs 1250 not cheap but most likely a great mild tune , having a issues with TOrk getting things sorted out as they have no loaners as I had read in their site , and that was going to be my choice , get their loaner , send my ECU for a flash , then return their loaner :( but no loaners available I guess :( wife not knowing lol oh well , I will head in to Classified Motorsports and see what we can arrange , but I will now have to have a rental until my ECU is sent off and back in my Stinger once again lol

If it's fast that's all that counts. Dynos vary and don't mean much.
How is your Beta stage 2 working out just wondering if I could convince John to flash it on mine lol

I'm loving it. Worth a try.
What mods do you have?

I have secondary down pipes only primary cats left on ,Borla cat back ,( NGK 2 degree colder plugs CIA , FMIC and running off 94 up 98 octane
How did you get hired for the Central Intelligence Agency when your a Canadian?

It's a 6 hour drive to Tork from Kelowna according to google maps. Leave Sunday, arrange to get flashed first thing Monday, drive home... Or maybe you can drive on Friday, get Tork to come in on Saturday to do the flash for you - I don't think it would more than a couple of hours?

It should only be a two day down time. Take the ecu off next day air ship it. Tork gets it the next day then next day air ships it back. You can do this on a Monday and be back up driving on Wednesday. Or just wait for a local alphaspeed dealer that can remote tune it for you.

Yes that would work well indeed , I will have it shipped by air then for sure /)

I will see what Tune work for my DD and occasional circuit Track, only 3 track days at the most lol

shoot TOrk won’t release it to me lol

lol thats funny. Hes a PITA to work with anyways so just hit up pressertech or call up BTR (alphaspeed dealer)
