2020 Stinger Rumors

I have a 2019 GT1. :)

I was looking at the GT2 line but what killed it was the smart power trunk. I prefer opening and closing doors of any kind manually.
I came from a K900 so I was spoiled, needed to have all the tech, mostly the HUD.

HUD is one feature I wouldn't mind having. I also liked the Surround View Monitor. Those two things were selling points for the GT2.

True but, that orange is sweet.

Wait - they're not offering to take $5K off the price for that "here I am, Mr. LEO" annoying / ugly orange? They want you to pay on top? One of the main reasons I DIDN'T get a GTS was the orange - I couldn't live with that as a daily...

2020 Fed Orange and Ceramic Silver, both only available on GT2 in the US.
And they dropped Silky Silver altogether.

The orange is sweet looking, makes the Stinger pop, but I also wouldn't get it as am not Mr. Leo, lol

I have not driven a k900 but thought the wife may be interested in it. Any reason you can share why you left it and went with a stinger?

M&S trying to remain anonymous , your first slip up.
2020 Kia Stinger

Is Ceramic Silver only offered in the GT2 trim now?

GT2 this narrows you down to North America.

Aw, you quoted me before I edited. :p

I was wrong. The Federation Orange is only available for the GT2 trim. But I agree, the orange is sweet. I saw it in person and it was an eye-catcher. :alien:

Federation Orange: this does to.

I feel in time we'll unmask this person from the shadows.:laugh:o_O

WAT lol. You're too funny!

I've never denied living in the U.S. No one asked. I just don't insert things in the Profile and haven't had a reason to add a signature.

I have posted things like "usd" and "m" for miles, which for the mystery fans, I suppose are clues too. :D

The fun factor but, I gave up a lot for it. I remember rolling down my windows from time to time just to what traffic sounds like. The new K900 does have the Stinger’s engine and I am curious on how it drives.

.....Just saying we haven't dropped the ball you're still on the radar, I'm going to least
Narrow it down to a state. I did mention North America but you've now confirmed USA .:laugh:
...Ps. "Fans?"....

I didn't know I was such a popular person here. :D

It's Mr. LEO, as in "Law Enforcement Officer". As in, that orange is a close cousin to "ticket me red".. Plus (and I've seen it in person), it's such a washed out orange, IMHO. The Challenger does it WAY better - deeper and more vibrant. Actually, I wish Kia would have offered *THIS* color on the GTS - I'd have traded in my GT1 for a loss to get that + D-AWD (well, and if they had kept some of the other features like cooled seats):

CARamel. Not for me. "Washed out orange"? Really? In all the pics it looks really bright. I have yet to see a Fed Orange in the flesh, though.

@Capital AL About time. This is such a common mod for NA owners it only makes sense.

There goes 1/800 being anything more than carbon fiber bits and a badge for me
IMO the D-AWD was the real draw here. Sadly, all the dealers in my area only stocked RWD GTS models. Don't forget all the Alcantara bits and headliner. Tech packages for the GTS just weren't worth the $$, also.
The next model will have the 3.5TT
This seems to be the prevailing theory, but I haven't seen any confirmation on this. The liquid intercooler and higher fuel delivery looks like a good indication of more than 10 hp gain. Bonus, fuel consumption is down 6% for the 3.5TT.
smart power trunk
I would really like this on my GT1, but I've gotten used to closing the lid manually. The weighting and balance are done very well, so it's no big deal - except when my hands are full.
I wasn't really able to see the HUD in the GT2 I test drove. I think I was either sitting too high - 6'2" and I brush the ceiling if I let my hair grow too long - or maybe it's because I didn't know how to adjust it. It's neat, but I don't mind glancing down at the dash like normal.
Surround View Monitor
This is the feature I would LOVE to get on my car. After having curbed a rim while parallel parking, I back in to spaces religiously so I can use the side mirrors and rear view cam.

Also, I saw this Korean Car Blog article a couple days ago - Kia Stinger Facelift Spied From More Angles
kia-stinger-facelift-4.jpg.webp

Based on the spy shots from the front and rear, I would guess that the hood vents and the brake lights will change. Maybe something with the lower front grille. Otherwise - it's going to be minor interior updates. I'm not holding my breath on the 3.5TT, especially over 10hp.

Also, same article - what's up with the different rims on the front and rear of the red car? The look aftermarket. Wonder if there are any suspension or brake updates that require different size?

Not sure of anything! As Blue said:
Kia doesn't do marketing well. Their car builder tool for the Stinger has been mostly useless since 2017.
I just go by that fallible car builder on their website. And also, there are going to be exceptions to anything that Kia officially offers. I remember fairly early in 2018, that upholstery combinations turned up here and there that had no availability and you could not order them. So, I expect CS or any other color to turn up, here or there. I wouldn't be surprised if a Silky Silver turned up as a 2020 car somewhere in the US (mistakenly sent here from a different market that still gets SS). :p
