• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

What did you do to your Stinger in Australia today?

Question for you Stinger GTSS, does your X Force cat-back system have a drone ? and do you have the Varex smart box with it ?

Some girls like to tinker under the bonnet and get their mitts all greasy, that's not me.
So being that I don't know much about what goes on under there, am I right in assuming that those " Ram intake thingies " are to suck air into the engine and make it more efficient ? keep it cooler? are they worth having for everyday use or more for track work ?

It's actually smaller than the black pad di I think I'll place it towards the bottom and flush with right hand side. There will be a gap at the track transmission tunnel but I don't think it will be too noticeable. I'll give it ago later today.
Tried a few positions and pretty wl decided o n flush with bottom which means a overhang on top this. I haven't permanently fixed it yet so open to suggestions etc.

Nope, looks like it just sitting there. Thx for trying anyway.

Not a fan, don’t like that it’s too short, and not wide enough at the bottom but overhangs near the top right. Nice try though. Hopefully they end up just releasing one as a spare part.

How about like this. I always knew it would be too small but wanted to experiment anyway.

Better but still looks like an after thought as it does not cover the whole pedal.

Stinger gtss doesn't have the varex exhaust yet. I believe all exhausts mated to twin turbo v6 engines suffer drone. Some worse than others. The varex x force comes with a remote switch.

Ok, the x force can have an app linked to your smart phone which is cool so you can switch it from open to close without using the remote switch, I wonder if there's much drone in the kia Bimodal ?

We should ask our friend @ShannonC he has this. I believe though the way the pipes have been " pinched" stops this? Kew Shannon....:D

Stick to the cardboard pegged to the wheel, like the old days on your bike, it will sound better lol.

I really don't notice any drone and it's got a good throaty sound that cuts in around 2500 rpm. Put it in sports mode and it sounds good through all rev ranges and downshifts are awesome, sometimes with a crackle when I go too quick through the gears. I haven't driven anything else so can't compare but I have heard @Ozstung gun his at speed and there's quite a "boom". Don't know how mine would compare but suffice to say it's the only sports system approved by Kia.

I am interested in it or kia Bimodal but if yours has more " punch " shall we say I'd lean to yours

Yeah sorry about that boom, I couldn't resist I only just had it installed, from memory I went past at about 160km. I bet your wife is still saying that bloody lunatic :rofl:

See if you can find a demo at a Dealership. It won't give more kw but you might like the sound.

Guys, can anyone answer my question a few posts back ,it's about the " rams "....cheers
Oh, I put a joke in the joke thread like 3 weeks ago( feels that long ) you should check it out, I think it's not bad if I don't say so myself :D

The ram thingys are cold air intakes. Normal air filters are made of paper and restrict airflow into engine. The cold air intakes have filters made of different stuff that allows better airflow. More air in, more bang and power. Your bordering on mega enthusiast if you are prepared to spend money on them. Personally I would not go there but if I recommended a brand, Jonny Tig. There is a vid on YouTube by a guy called StingerGTandMe that shows you. All up cost vs extra power is probably not that much diff in horse power. Please correct me guys if im wrong.
