• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

What did you do to your Stinger in Australia today?

Yes we are quite liberal over here lol.
As of yesterday NSW is still liberal (with a little help from NCP).

This is not what I did "today", but what I did last week on Saturday (sorry, my life is a bit too busy at the moment).

So on Saturday I went out for lunch with a good friend of mine (he's going to Melbourne for a little bit), and I happen to be around the same area that @AV8R lives. He was kind enough to invite me over for a chat (especially with the short notice I gave him, what a legend!), and generously took time out of his day to install the side vent meshes on my car. A big shoutout to @AV8R, and mad props my friend!

@AV8R, thank you again for the lovely chat (I learnt a lot), and installation of the side vent meshes!

You're welcome just pamper her with a wash soon:D:thumbup:

Anyhow, I finally had some time to wash my car and I even detailed it with the products that @AV8R recommended. I washed the car using the Bowden Nanolicious car shampoo, and the Bowden After Glow is pretty darn good product, alongside with their Lazy Wax product, it really makes the car shine like new

Unfortunately, I noticed a bunch of clear coat scratches (not sure how they got there, but I suspect the previous dealer washed with a contaminated sponge) and now I am looking into fixing them before I get my paint protection done. Does anyone have any product suggestions for clear coat scratch removals?

Edit:
I had a look around and people seem to recommend Meguiar's Scratch-X, I will give that a go tomorrow and let you guys know how it goes.

Now thats a clean car! Did you get the water spots off on the black chrome?
Dont worry about the scratches, tell Steve when you get the protection done and he should be able to fix it.

I use both of the first two mentioned products and find them very good. You'll notice a big improvement after you get ceramic.

After a 2400km interstate trip I gave her a good soak to remove all the bug splatter then a big wash & detail to get her back to normal.

Never ceases to amaze me how bloody shiny it looks.
I told you before it’s the Protektiv paint protection the dealer applied, I love it, so easy to clean, a quick soak to soften the bug guts, then it washes straight off.

Yeh i know that but im always amazed :D:)

I got most of the water spots off the black chrome, but some just won't go off no matter how hard I tried (welp). I will let Steve know when I get the paint protection, I tried the Meguiar's Scratch-X it works pretty well on most of the light scratches (I also got it for my RX8 to fix some of the scratched paint, but doesn't work as well as it did on the red paint). Unfortunately, I noticed a couple of deep marks on the rear bumper (depends on angle of lighting) that the Meguiar's Scratch-X product couldn't get out. I hope Steve could sort me out, it still a clear coat scratch so maybe some machine buffing will fix it (my one broke a LONG time ago).

I am getting AGlaze as recommended by @AV8R, I hope it is as good as ceramic!

Wow! It looks amazing! I am not sure if the AGlaze paint protection is the same in terms of gloss, as it's just a sealant rather than a ceramic coat.

--------------------------------------------

Anyhow, I had some more spare time today (lol, it has been months since I had two days free on a weekend!) and I finally washed my Mazda RX8. I gave the RX8 a nice clay bar treatment and detail using some wax + added some DIY paint sealant using Meguiar's NXT Polymer Paint Sealant. To top that off I treated my windscreen + car windows using Rain-X glass water repellent (also treated my Stinger). Car looks like brand new again! (though my wallet is feeling a lot lighter now , I think I spent over $300 on new car care products over the weekends).

On another note, does anyone have the balls to park this close? :p

Inadvertly i parked the Stinger within about 5mm of my Ford without realising a couple of days ago. I thought i had about 300mm there was no alarming.

Funny you say. I did about 10mm at the rear too when my garage door came down too. Never again ... I nearly died upon realising this as I closed the door behind me.

Just a short update, I took my Stinger in for the 3000KM service today and to replace the diff oil, everything went smoothly but unfortunately they did not have any diff oil in stock and they had to order some from the Eastern states (you guys have it good lol). I've also managed to get the $695 pricing for the AGlaze paint protection that AV8R recommended (thanks @AV8R for the special pricing).

On another note, I finally had some time to check out my detail work I did yesterday (late into the night) for the RX8, the Bowden products that AV8R recommended is amazing (I used After Glow + Lazy Wax).

10,000km service completed and mudflaps fitted. Took some under car pics whilst engine trays were off.
Also cleaned inside of wheels whilst it was on hoist :)

Nice. I’m surprised they let you in the workshop. I would have expected them to be all OH&S, liability etc etc.
