Wondering if the reflector strip on the side has an LED or a regular bulb in it. I don't think mine has been working since I got the car back from the body shop 2 years ago.
My son used my car to take pics for his friend that is an aspiring automotive photographer. This pic was before my car was in the body shop 2 years ago. If you zoom in you can see the light is on.

The reflector strip does not contain the little side light. That is a forward projecting bit on the taillight assembly, that inserts behind the hanging/rear end of the reflector strip. It must be an LED, there's no space for a bulb.
Busy weekend! Received and put on a new set of wheels yesterday and blacked out the front grill. Today was the rear bumper moldings and an install of an MBRP catback exhaust. Pain in the ass doing the exhaust on ramps but got it done. Have a feeling I'm going to pay for it tomorrow though.
I want to see you are correct, I don't believe mine has any illumination.
Do some of them though? What am I seeing here from an online listing for the part.
Is this just a mechanical fastening for the tail light to connect to the reflector? - My 2018 model does not have any illumination in the side reflector.

Yes, the LED is part of the taillight assembly, at least on the '18 and '19 that we have. I can't believe that KIA took the side reflector light out of refresh taillight assemblies. You must have a disconnection issue? But both sides at once?

Well, it was working. I have a 2020 btw. It got hail damage on it and it was in the body shop for months, they took off a lot of stuff to fix the damage. It was something I completely forgot about, mind you, this was 2 years ago. That body shop was trash and it doesn't surprise me that they possibly didn't connect the lights back or install them properly. I got the 2022+ turn signals as a birthday gift last year and installed them. It didn't dawn on me until later that I thought I used to have a light or side marker on the side of my car. Looked at old pics and yeah, there was a light or whatever on.
I was curious so I just went out to my garage and turned on the car lights, and turned off the garage lights.
It is dark in there and I can 100% tell you that on my 2023, the reflector strip does not light up.
There is only that little square spot at the very back edge that has a light in it. The rest of the strip is just a reflector.

Depends on exactly what was done and what parts were replaced but $480 for spark plugs, wipers, all filters and oil isn't too bad. It took me a few tries to find a service center that didn't try to take the piss. One place wanted $135cad to replace a cabin filter claiming it was dirty... I'd just replaced it myself for $30 in 5 minutes a few weeks back.
You'll have to do your own homework and check what fair parts prices are, but there's a lot you can do yourself in your driveway with a few tools and save not only on parts, but especially labor. Just keep a log and digitize all receipts to satisfy warranty requirements.
Air filter is simply $24 US and 5 minutes. I look to see what’s in the KIA recommended maintenance schedule and do what I can myself. Plugs (HKS), tire rotation, cabin filter, wash my Takeda engine air filter, etc. about the only thing I have Kia do the oil change at this point since I have a friend do it for a discount.
I know this doesn't count as doing something too my car but it involved my car so there's that disclaimer.
An artist that i deal with for other things outside of car asked me to be a part of his new side project. He's a very "dark art" artist and and does lots of commission work for bands and such. So again this is his beginnings of diving in to digital car art. I was stoked as hell with the outcome.
I found out that doing any performance HP mods voids the warranty on the vehicle. However upgrading the braking system is ok to do so I decided to upgrade both the brake pads and rotors to stop any warping of the OEM routers and early wear of brake pads.
I have done a lot of cosmetic additions to both the interior and exterior of my 2021 Gt Ld.

I was told one of the best spots. I did take some pictures last year when I just picked up the car at the Mer Bleue bog. I think the road is called Dolman Ridge Rd. It’s pretty long, paved and at the end of the rd there is a parking lot so you can walk the trails through the woods. However seeing we are waiting for some green on the trees this spot wasn't a good choice. Oh! the road is not highly travelled so I was playing around with the launch control feature Not one car approached. It was fun
Swapped out the Street Aero splitter/diffuser for a carbon fiber set I picked up from Ebay and added the lit kit to the snorkels. Was never really a fan of the sharpness of the Street Aero kit. I'm liking the look of this one much better.
