"Invisible Glass glass stripper is not for the inside, just to be clear, ha hah.
I quite often, several times a year, spray and wipe the inside of my glass, including when I used the product I am discussing.
Right now I am walking back my claim "it worked" a bit. Yes, "Invisible Glass glass stripper took off a lot of accumulated stuff on the outside of the windshield. But it left behind a haze. Not bad, but definitely there when the sun shines through. I thought that I had rinsed incompetently. When I got fresh water and a towel and rinsed and dried again, the haze went away - except a couple of small areas where I didn't try as thoroughly as I should.
One must be somewhat OC about clean glass in order to get your windshield really clean. Now I can see the road rash of seven and a half years in the glass, and there is a fair amount of that, unavoidably so.
Ima not complaining. Nobody wants to have to replace their windshield. That's just asking for subsequent trouble ranging from noise to moisture getting in, and cosmetic damage to trim and paint getting the glass changed out and in, etc.
Interesting. I tried steel wool a couple of years ago, even with vinegar. Thought I saw a difference and probably did, a little. I'll try your method. Thanks for sharing.I use 0000 grade steel wool to clean the outside of my glass and have so for years.
Works a treat.
1st, clean the glass with a "good" glass cleaner ( eg: 3M Glass and Laminate cleaner ).
Then polish the glass with the 0000 grade steel wool ( dry ).
Then remove any residual wool fibers using compressor / leaf blower / whatever you have.
Then, re-clean with 3M cleaner and see the difference......
I have to say that steel wool DRY is the trick. I did exactly what you said. The first thing I noticed is that the glass no longer "grabs" to the touch. It's super smooth now/again, like was new. Of course the road attrition/sandblasting of seven and a half years cannot be eradicated. And the inside glass is always going to be a bit frustrating because of the difficulty getting to it. But a paper napkin, or as some have recommended, newspaper, should provide in the moment eradication of the missed bits when stopped at a light, etc.I use 0000 grade steel wool to clean the outside of my glass and have so for years.
