Drag/Acceleration Weight of the worlds fastest Stinger....

What will it take for a 9 second 1/4 mile Stinger? :D

Putting a Stinger body on a heavily modified GT-R chassis? Alpha (out of chicago, I believe), built an 800 whp q50 for testing, and it did 10.5 in the 1/4. The q50 is a good standin for the stinger because it has similar weight, comes in rwd/awd, 4 doors, similar stock power / trap times, etc.

If 800 whp doesn't do it for a q50, and we're barely at 600 whp ...

But then it's not a Stinger. :(

My point was - it's going to take a LOT more than anyone's currently even come close to.. Plus, at least an upgraded torque converter.

Well, it's a 2 year-old car. I am hopeful! :)

Yeah, but, it sells in lower numbers than something like the Q50, which seems to be much EASIER to tune (they've cracked the ECU for some time), has multiple Nissan tuners working with it, a couple of transmission builders, etc. They even recently added aftermarket support for adding an LSD to the AWD setup (wish I could get that on my GT1 AWD!!). I was all set on Q50 until I found I couldn't sit in the sport seats for more than 5 minutes..

Not that I'm super disappointed or anything - the Stinger has much better creature comforts - but if you're serious about wanting 9 seconds to happen with the 3.3TT (soon to be replaced by the 3.5TT), don't hold your breath. No way anyone puts in all that effort for a 3-year model run that's already scheduled for a new engine. If you really want 9 seconds, buy a Hellcat/Demon or GT-R and go from there. Unless you have $50-100K to sink into a Stinger, ready for multiple blown engines/transmissions, etc? It's just NOT meant to be a 1/4 mile giant.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
You can add an LSD on the Stinger too.
I have seen a few people do it.

BTW the "new engine" is just an upgrade of the same engine.

You can add an LSD (Limited Slip Differential) on the Stinger too.

RWD or AWD? RWD is no surprise, since some RWDs got them OEM. I have not heard of anyone with AWD adding an LSD. So far, on the D-AWD has that, and it may have different programming..

I would have gone with a Supra. :D

However, I opted for a Stinger. And so I root Stinger.

Yes I meant rear diff but added on AWD cars that don't have it.

So, they basically just dropped the "J216" LSD diff in from the D-AWD model or the RWD model? No issues with traction control, etc?

Happy with my Awd traction just waiting for mild stage 2 tune of 20- 21 psi tune for my mods he he
Lol. No offense but mild and stage 2 tune don’t really go together... Stage 1 is mild with ~18psi. Stage 2 is usually for FBO mods and basically maxing the efficiency of our tiny turbos at 20-21psi. That’s wild not mild.;):D

True enough indeed, still only running around 356 whp with all my mods, like to hit 400 on the wheels on the DYNOCOM he he

Even a stage1 tune will exceed your goals.

First of all dynocom’s result are typically 15-18% higher than dynojet numbers, so a stock Stinger should almost put down 400whp on a dynocom(330-340whp dynojet).

Second, Kagantuned is already putting down 409whp/450wtq on his stage1 tune with absolutely no other mods. JB4s are doing 441whp/518wtq with only intakes using e30. And my buddies lap3 Stinger hit 491whp with FBOs(minus intercooler) on e30.

Another words you should easily hit 420-450whp(500-525whp=dynocom) with a stage1 tune or JB4/lap3 using your mods.

The Q50 definitely has a much more established aftermarket than some of its competitors. I just turned in a leased 2016 Silver Sport RWD for my RWD Stinger GT2.

The crazy thing is that the 2020 Q50 is almost identical to the 2016 Q50 that I turned in. They added Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and that was essentially all they have changed in 4 years. Pretty easy to develop aftermarket stuff for a car that doesn’t change.

The resell value of the 2019 Q50 cars is positively abysmal. An AWD Q50 SS stickers for $54,640 minimum. That is about the same as the equivalent Stinger GT2.

Right now the resell value on KBB of the 2019 AWD Stinger GT2 with 15k miles is $37,092 while the Q50 AWD SS is $30,179. Both cars have similar discounts for the 2019 models right now. $7,000 more depreciation in 15k miles is the reason why the Infiniti is such a bad option to buy brand new.

My old 2016 Q50 is for sale for $27,000 right now with about 47k miles. If you really want to mod a car to the extreme then picking up a used 2016 Q50 SS is probably your best option.

Just be aware that the Q50 trade in value is almost $7,000 less than that. If you can find someone who bought instead of leased a 2016 Q50 and wants to get out of it you might be able to get in one for about $21k if you buy it private party. That is a lot of car for that kind of money.

There is almost no need to get a Red Sport if you plan on modifying it because the only difference is the intercooler and you are probably going to change that out anyway.

The Stinger is light years better than the Q50 in every other aspect. There simply is no comparison between the two car’s performance in stock form. The Stinger just blows the doors off the Q50 SS when stock. I tried an AWD Red Sport with the accessory exhaust and honestly it didn’t even feel as fast as my RWD Stinger.

However, they can get some pretty amazing HP figures out of the Q50 with heavy modifications.

Oh, I totally know about the depreciation - I research cars to death, read up on leasehackr for 1.5 years, etc. Around January of this year, IIRC, I had a deal lined up through CarMax for a 2017 AWD Q50SS (didn't want the steer-by-wire), in brown (a color I'm ok with, and have never owned before) with ~20K miles for $27K. But, as I mentioned, the front driver's seat bolster just dug into my left thigh. It wasn't QUITE as bad as the new Q50RS I test drove a month earlier - that one gave me a limp for a month after 15-20 minutes in the seat - but still bad. So, I had to abandon that idea.

I know the car isn't as fancy as the Stinger, but it's hard to beat $27K vs $45K. Mind you, I rarely think about the Q50 now, only when looking at extreme modifications (which I'm unlikely to do due to CARB).
