Uhhh...New Eibach Springs Install

Just installed my eibach springs today, love it!
I would also trim those bumper stocks and see for yourself if that resolves the issue, then go from there.

Why don't you go to the shop that installed your springs and talk to them? Tell them you're not happy with the stance of the car and ask them for solutions. Not saying make them pay for it or anything but they deal with suspension all day long, I'm sure they can come up with something. If not them, then another shop.

Isn't the ride so much more controlled , there's a confidence in the way they make the car feel. Had mine on 14 months best mod I've done.

Most definitely, I love the ride height and the handling is way better!

Looks great. Could be the angle, but it looks slightly lower in the back. Nowhere near as much as mine tho.

I have been going back and forth with them, but response has been slow. I think they will work with me to get this resolved. They were recommended, but it's the first time I've done any work with them so we'll see.

No it doesn't. You guys putting on aftermarket springs are like the hammer looking for a nail: and everything starts to look like a nail. :P
 
This is exactly the reason I went with the ARK springs, little over an inch drop in the front and an inch in the rear...sits dead nuts level and has 90% the comfort of the stock springs. The reverse rake would drive my OCD nuts, it doesn't look terrible but I definitely notice it in every picture that gets posted here or on FB where the car is running Eibach springs.

I would not run different springs in the rear...the varying spring rates would cause some ride quality issues I would imagine.

Your options are:
1. Live with it
2. Go back to stock
3. Run different springs and sell the Eibachs
4. Get spacers...you'll need to measure the spring dimensions (i.d, o.d.) and the dimensions of the upper spring perch. Off-road guys run small urethane or metal spring spacers all the time (1/8" - 5/8").


I was going to order the Eibach lowering springs as I will be adding the Eibach Rear and Front Sway bars. I am trying to find more reviews about the Ark Springs as I believe these will fit more what I am looking for; not an aggressive drop (more even look front and back), close to stock ride quality. I drive the car year round and I am in a snowy region so I didn't want to go too low but would like to reduce that wheel gap a bit. How long have you had your Ark Springs on your car and are you still happy with the choice?

I agree, finding reviews on these springs is tough, however, the one's I have found are almost all positive.

I've only had them on the car for about a month and 1K miles...so far I like them a lot, lowered it just enough to close the wheel gap, but not so low that I rub coming out of my garage (steep driveway). It's a little stiffer than stock, but not much. Is it noticeable? Yes, but it's well within acceptable limits, and no where near as harsh as my WRX was on coilovers (it's comparable to my GTI on OEM suspension). It's most noticeable in sport mode (again not harsh, think firm), comfort mode is still very smooth over rough roads (I live in Seattle and many roads here are shit).

Handling dynamics are similar to stock, it's a big heavy sedan so it's no canyon carver, but it's definitely flatter and more composed when taking corners/offramps at speed. If I had the choice I would make the same decision again, the Eibachs are too low for me and the reverse rake is just horrid IMO. The ARKs ride great, are inexpensive, give the car a proper stance and sit level. Win-win.

Thank you for the quick feedback, it is much appreciated! Yes, I had coilovers, chassis braces, sways, etc on my GS400 and 430 and I don't want to go that aggressive again. Mind you the handling was vastly improved but I am not going to track the stinger, I just want it to have a slightly lower stance and slightly more composed and linear in handling. To be fair, I am very happy with the way the car is for the most part and these would be the only suspension mods I plan on doing. Thanks again

Hmm. Is it just me or is the apparent f/r discrepancy in part a function of the size, relationship to body lines, and curve of the wheel well arcs? When I had mine done, that was my initial thought... looks high in front...but then I looked at distance to ground for the rockers as well as the aforementioned wheel cutouts and decided that all was well in the world. But that's my perception, by no means am I saying @twelvexes take is invalid (and I'm on my phone so small distinctions are elusive in any case... I might peruse your pics again later when I can see them). But it sure does seem to me that the factors I mention do play a significant role. I understand where you’re coming from. However, I measured mine and my car is sitting 5/8” lower in the rear than the front after the Eibach springs install. Sometimes this is not that noticeable and other times it’s extremely noticeable. Just depends on how level the ground is where it’s parked. Either way, it bothers me and I can’t unsee it now. I’m going to give the ARK springs a try and see if my car has a better stance. Fingers crossed.

That pic looks perfectly level to me. And if I had to choose nose high or nose down, I'd choose nose down.

Where did you take that 5/8" measurement again? The only way to judge is "in the flesh" of course. But pics are being posted to get opinions. So, throw a few more at us, if you are inclined to continue this game. I'm up for it.

Shipping is often not as bad as you would think when sending an item to Canada. I would definitely suggest looking at the discounted price during our Black Friday/Cyber Monday Sale :)
