TuxMat Review

Update:
Cleaned my mats tonight and found that all were still in perfect shape except for some wear on the drivers side. The black top coating in this one spot has worn off and kind of ruined the look of an otherwise perfect mat. Ive reached out to see if this is covered under warranty. Will be interesting to see what they have to say.
That's interesting to see, as I wouldn't think that would be a wear spot. Does your heel normally rest there, rather than on the reinforced rubber heel pad?

Turns out I do test my heel there.

Tuxmat got back to me within 12 hrs and has already sent a replacement drivers mat. They said they would only do it one time but I’m really happy with that. I will keep the damaged one for winter use and see if I can do some kind of patch repair on that area.

Love my Tux Mats. My wife had to have them for her car also after seeing mine.

As your heel naturally rests there, you might want to see if you can extend the rubber heel pad by splicing in an another piece.

The replacement mat arrived yesterday. Really impressed with how quickly they replied and sent it out. Can't recommend this company enough.

The mat covers the pretty steel deadpedal.
That is the single reason why I stopped looking at these. (But I believe it's aluminum.)

That wore down quickly. You must move your foot as you drive: probably unconscious. I don't see how such a high quality mat could wear down that quickly otherwise.

Put mine in this past weekend. I was actually surprised at the fit. I may not have to use any clips or velcro. The only issue i have is the no slip plug on the drivers side. it doesn't seem to lock but i may just take it off.

Don't you mean "plugs", plural? There are two of them.

Yes you're right the pedals are aluminum.

The reason it wore quickly is because I drive roughly 1.5-2hrs of stop and go traffic daily to work with hard soled shoes. I also think a big contributoe is the amount of salt and sand that my work parking garage uses, it covers my mat and turns my shoes into a belt sander.

So what are you thinking of doing to stop the rapid wear? You could remove your shoes and drive in your bare feet. ;)

I'm considering wearing sneakers for the drive or I might just patch the old mat and use it for winter duty only and swap the new mat for summer use only. All my other mats are still in perfect condition.

If you don't change something (like into driving shoes), won't your replacement mats wear in that spot just as fast?

Do u know if they are custom, so as they can make mats for RHD drive cars??

The ones that the dealer gave me are sooo rubbish.... Heal has started wearing the "carpet" down quite a bit.

Just saw an ad from another vendor selling this same sort of mat style on Facebook last night. Good to hear people here are liking them.

In the summer no because salt and sand will be out of the equation. I'm also trying to move my seat back to see if that helps change my heel position while driving, seems I might be crowding the pedals a bit.

That's a good idea. I wondered how your heel could get over there to the side like that. And I was visualizing your right foot cocked at an angle, just like you are suggesting here, which would happen if you were closer to the pedals than you need to be or should be.

I ordered tuxmats from the tuxmat ebay store and they arrived surprisingly quickly. Unfortunately, the driver mat has a crease on the right side that is very noticeable. Has anyone else had this issue? Will it self heal? I honestly think the wrinkle will bother me if it doesn't heal because it'll be the first thing I see when I open my door due to its location. I may seem like Petty Roosevelt here but I feel like for the price I shouldn't have settle for a quality issue like this.

If Tux is as good as its rep, it should fade to an acceptable faintness. My Kia hatch floor cover came rolled up in a box, if you can believe it. Creased all to hell at both ends. It looks fine now. I can't imagine Kia's material being equal, much less superior, to the Tux material.
