Just a short review of a set of TuxMat's that I just purchase and installed last week from tuxmat.ca

Their website was easy to navigate and place my order. Once ordered I received an email the following day saying they had shipped from FedEx along with a tracking number. My mats arrived quite quickly within 2-3 days and were packaged in a large box with each mat in its own plastic bag.

Also included with the mats was an anchor for the drivers mat, 22 plastic clips and a set of instructions.

The installation was pretty straightforward, the mats fit very snug and almost perfectly, in fact I was kind of blown away with how perfect they fit in the car. I only used a couple of the 22 clips to ensure the mat edges were secure near the gas pedal and a couple in the back on each side of the centre console. To be honest you could totally get away with just installing the anchor on the drivers mat and nothing else and these aren't going anywhere.

Here is a size comparison of the oem passenger carpet mat to the tuxmat, one thing this image doesn't show well is how the tuxmat is like a dish at the edges so you could pour water in the mat and it wont go anywhere. In the back they tuck tightly under the rear seats and fit like a glove, I would be surprised if they let anything onto the carpet in the back because the coverage is that good. They're more of a floorliner than a mat if you ask me.

Coverage on the drivers mat is fantastic as shown here installed:

Coverage on passenger mat also great:

These have such a higher end look to them than Weathertech mats. I have yet to see how the rubber footrest holds up to use but I'll update this thread once they've gone through a winter.

Overall I'm really impressed with these mats, I love how they look and so far they've done a great job of catching all the dirt.

If anyone has any questions about them let me know and I'd be glad to answer them, I'd highly recommend these and I think I'm going to even run them year round as long as they hold up well to scratches and abuse.

Does the black stand out in contrast to the lower trim? In all the pictures I see it looks really black.

Remember, they will get dirty - so color match kind of irrelevant. I have had them for about six months now, and they do ride up and down on the driver's side - so use as many of the holders as you can to try to keep it stable.

Did you use the drivers side floor anchor with the sharp nail on it?

Have you owned weather tech? They are virtually the same price for either set now. I’m on the fence.
I just finished cleaning a set of Weathertechs from a Ford Flex so I have a good idea of the comparison of build quality and the Tuxmats are on a completely different level as far as quality is concerned.

I think the Tuxmats are better looking and blend in with the car better, vs. the more industrial appearance of the WT products. So much so that I've left them in over the summer. Haven't had the Weather Tech, but I think their more pronounced rib structure would also make them harder to clean - the cushioned Tuxmats clean up easily with a few wipes of a damp rag.

You'll need to make a personal call - I'm sure either will do an admirable job of keeping mud, slush, etc. isolated from the car interior.

I've owned both. And Tuxmat is the best I've owned. Trouble free over the last 5 months. It's not even close. Amazingly easy to keep clean, great padding, top notch longevity and maintains form so far. I used every single clip to maintain mat position during hard use/driving.

I’ve had WT on my previous cars, and my Tuxmats blow them away! Much richer looking, better coverage, and I’m certain they will wear better

I have WT in my Stinger due to some of the places I end up for work. If I didn’t, I would buy these as I do think they have a higher end look.

The rear on the WT are two pieces so I think the TM give more coverage for the rear with them being one piece.

Just ordered them, saw this thread and was like yep I need these for the winter!

Couple Updates:

Pros:
  • So far these things are holding up great and show zero signs of wear.
  • I'm using them as my permanent mats because they look so great.
  • No signs of the mats sliding forward on me yet.
  • Zero issues with using the gas pedal and brake with these installed.

Cons:
  • When vacuuming the car last night I noticed that some dirt had managed to get past these mats and under the front portion of the seats, the only thing I can think of is that the portion of the mat that goes under the front of the front seats doesn't have a high enough lip to catch the dirt. It will be interesting to see if any slush or water will suffer the same fate or if the channels in the mat will be enough to collect it.
  • The mat covers the pretty steel deadpedal.

Update:
Cleaned my mats tonight and found that all were still in perfect shape except for some wear on the drivers side. The black top coating in this one spot has worn off and kind of ruined the look of an otherwise perfect mat. Ive reached out to see if this is covered under warranty. Will be interesting to see what they have to say.
