Stinger Owners.....what other cars made your final list?

Audi S5 - Not fond of the Audi front...every model looks the same. No ventilated seats, HUD, & no heated steering wheel with flat bottom

Infiniti Q50 sport - Too narrow for grand kids seats

BMW 440i GC - Too small

Cadillac CTS

All these cars are considerably more expensive than the Stinger, but I like the looks of the Stinger more than any of them. I love the look of this car from all angles.

Came out of a ‘16 BMW 328i. Nice car but small and hated the run flats. Had a 2012 Optima SX and loved it, so new optima was on the list, but then saw the Stinger. A5, Q50 and Chager were on the list, but Stinger has the best combo of luxury and sport at resonable price compared to the others. No regrets!

Is your second job, moonlighting as Kia's top PR sales guy ? ;) ( you'd do a fantastic job, with your sales pitch and charm, you'd have them running out of Stingers ) :D:thumbup:

I've already gotten my sister in law and her husband to buy a Sorento and got my coworker to lease a Stinger. She hadn't heard of a Stinger and was goingn the whole Mercedes/BMW/Audi route. Two days after driving my car, she got her Stinger.

Why thank you flame, I guess coming from a history of far inferior cars and the Stinger being at my ceiling limit dollar wise. Every drive is like xmas day. Whoops am I being to honest. Seriously the value was to good to pass up. As you will soon experience :)

I've posted this many times here - I had a $100k budget and after considering an M3/M4, RC-F, Guila, and others in the same class, was close to pulling the trigger on a C43 AMG when I discovered the Stinger was coming. I didn't *need* to buy a new car, and being a happy Kia customer, decided to wait and see. Was blown away by it, but could not get the color combination I wanted in the '18 MY, and after living with my GF's low-slung (CLS) vehicle, the 360º camera was not negotiable. So I waited for the '19 and am very happy to be where I am now.

Can you tell us why you ruled the Guila out? It certainly looks and sounds the goods. Ta.

Pretty simple, based on two factors - One dealer in this city, and a LONG way from me. Also, ZERO leg room behind driver with me set up in drivers position.

A late-to-press deal killer, my Italian girlfriend "Julia" dumped me in the fall, so would have been a hard road to endure. Thankfully, the other two deal-killers saved me from that particular torture...

Not an owner yet, but I drove these: Audi S5, BMW 440i, Porsche 718 Cayman, Genesis G80, Infiniti Q50 RS, Lexus RC F. I also considered but eliminated the Camaro ZL1, Mustang GT, Alfa Giulia Quadroformmagio (I like four cheese better ;)), Genesis G70, Jaguar F Type, and the new Supra. Now, my final decision is do I want the Stinger in Panthera Metal or white with red.

Curious .....after driving the listed above, did anything peak you? S5?

The cayman 718 gts is a incredible car. And Porsche’s PDK transmission is second to none. If your dealer would let you drive one do yourself a favor and drive one. (Anyone reading this).

Would a Porsche dealer be more inclined to let you test one if you were seen arriving in a Stinger? :P

The S5 and the 440i were essentially what I wanted after all that, but no Android Auto in the BMW was a deal breaker, and when I realized the Stinger is pretty much an S5 but comes with about a $15,000 discount for similar equipment and far better expected reliability I stopped looking.

I never felt so connected with a car as I was in the Porsche, but I need to carry more than a couple of grocery bags worth of stuff, and can't go into six figure territory to get that.

Totally agree about the connection. The Porsche is a drivers car no question. Like you, I need to have more room. If it was a second car or something absolutely would have one. I will get one in a couple of years.

Has ANYONE checked out the 6 series GT from BMW? Very stinger-esque

Lol! More "Optimaesque" to me. Oh, the irony.

(edit to add: body style only, the rest is typical high priced loaded BMW. This car is not competing with the Stinger at a starting MSRP of over $70K.)

I know it probably doesn't drive as sporty as Stinger but overall larger vehicle with what seems to be the bells n whistles.......I so confused! Lol
121" wheelbase! The thing is yooge!

Last fall the wife and I decided we only needed to own 2 cars instead of the 3 we had (2014 Mazda CX-5, 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, and my fun car a 2010 Nissan 370Z). We decided to sell the van and the Z and keep the Mazda. Since I was giving up my fun car, I decided that it's replacement had to be practical, able to drive in winter weather, fit our budget, and "fun" to drive. The main cars I looked at were the Nissan Maxima, Buick Regal GS, Camry XSE V6, Ford Fusion Sport, and the Stinger. Dropped the Maxima because it comes with a CVT. The Camry was ok but was still FWD. Was considering the Fusion, but it's standard AWD system was FWD biased. The Buick was nice but didn't have enough fun factor to it. So, we bought the Stinger. Have only had it for a month, but we (I) made the right choice. I haven't driven it a lot since I want to keep it nice since it is new. But come spring, I will get the summer tires back on and drive it as much as possible. Side notes: I have been retired for almost 11 years. Still have the Z but plan on selling it come spring.
