Stinger Owners.....what other cars made your final list?

It was no question about "let's look at other cars, if you're thinking about this." It was the Stinger. I liked what I saw, then what I read, all of it. And the package worked on me, wore me down and I caved after the test drive. :p

Haven't driven yet..... only lurked from afar....I'm retiring within the next 3 months or so ... transitioning to a different lifestyle; 53 years old and struggling with the internal debate of fun to drive vs posh/ comfy..... and the struggle is REAL! Lol

Had considered a Ferrari briefly but the wife said NO. Lol

No idea where you're located, but if you are within striking distance of one of the upcoming big car shows (there are a bunch of them), I found that an ideal opportunity to make a final decision. I had previously whittled the short list down to the Audi S5 Sportback, the Infiniti Red Sport Q60 Coupe, and the Stinger.

I had already done the test drives I needed, and formed my initial impressions. I then went to the International car show (in Calgary), moved directly from car to car to sit in and refresh/confirm my feelings about the key features, ergonomics, sight lines, seat comfort, amenities, options, materials, etc. Took a good, long final look around at all the other competitors/possibilities at the show to make sure I wasn't missing anything, and made the final decision that the Stinger was exactly what I wanted.

I started soliciting pricing on the Stinger from a number of dealers the next day, and signed a sales order for the exact car I wanted within the next week. I though I'd be waiting for 3 months on the next boatload, but lucked out and a brand new one (7 kilometers on the clock) rolled in on a transporter literally days later. As the salesman said when he called, 'only driven by a little old Korean man over to the shipyard'. :p

Zero regrets - I could not be happier with the car.

I'm in Sunny South Florida.....A/S5 is one ....drove Q60 and a smallish coupe doesn't make sense....E400 coupe is on the list....similar length with all the bells n whistles ..... I'd love to see if 2020 stinger will offer the dash of the new K900....360* camera and qi wireless charging!

Thanks for the input and keep it coming guys....very therapeutic!

Still not an owner - but the new incentives are tempting. Long time German car owner. VW GTI Vr6, BMW e90 328i + e90 335i. Currently looking at the new 2019 3 series, Alfa and Kia. Stinger is way on top of list. #1 reason is the look - there is something that just ticks all the right boxes for me. Value and overall cost of ownership is up there as well, but if a car doesn't talk to you when looking at it, keep shopping.

I bought one on 12/28. Looked at the Panamera and F90 M5. I was getting rid of my 2018 Ford Raptor. Once I saw the Stinger and drove it couldn’t justify the extra cost. Figure in 2-3 years i can pick up a preowned F90 M5 for 50% of MSRP and keep the Stinger too!

It DOES speak to me.....and being an proud owner of a Kia Optima, I love the brand, I'm just checking options.....I wish it was bigger in length than my Optima.....another 6-7" .....perfection! I think it's basically a Euro car with Asian badging anyways....lol

My short list was Genesis G70 (couldn't find a G70 Prestige AWD w/ All Season tires), and Alfa Romeo Giulia Ti Sport (biggest issue was FCA reliability, and the likelihood of the non-touchscreen, strange ratio "infotainment" screen eventually driving me crazy). I never actually looked at either in person, but they were my final short list before going to dealers.

I also researched pricing for similar-spec vehicles like Audi, BMW, Infiniti, etc., but at the end of the day each would run $10-15k more than the Stinger.

Oo! Another early retiree. I did it at 51. It's taken almost this long to realize that waiting for anything like a car like this is stupid. Just do it.

Not necessary. At less than an inch shorter than the Optima, it has 4" more wheelbase and thus its interior is bigger; and cargo room is much larger.

Comparing more to my initial dream car....the Audi S7....but I'm just making excuses.....how's the red interior holding up?
Mine is black. Only a very few complaints about the nappa rubbing on the bolster have been shared on the forum; and not any at all for months, as far as I have been able to tell.

Salivated over the Dodge Charger for years. I was ready to pull the trigger on a used 2017 scat pack I saw online. The problem was, I never actually drove one...it was all eyes and paper and no hands on. I decided to test drive one locally. While I was at it, I saw this new thing called a "Stinger" online. I figured, it's down the street...so why not test drive that "thing" too! I first walked up to the stinger, after the guy brought it around and I still had my heart set on the Charger. As the guy walked us around it, I kept saying..."interesting". I then test drove it and I was like "wholly crap, I think I like it!" I then went to test drive the Charger. It had power, it had the "here I am, look at me, vroooooomm!!" thing going on for sure. I test drove it the same place as the Stinger. I thought two things when I was done with the Charger test drive; 1. It's got power and all that, but it just seemed so "look at me, I'm loud and proud", I wasn't feeling it. 2. How fast can I get back to the Kia dealership to begin the process of getting my new car. I mean, I knew stats on the Stinger and such...but she had me at hola! So... what was the question again??

Had a 2010 Genesis Coupe and loved it, then saw the Genesis G70 and instantly knew that was going to be my next car when it came out. Started reading reviews, and found out about the similar Kia Stinger. Started researching that and reading reviews and it was all over. Love the extra cargo space and interior room over the G70 and it was all over. Decision was made before I even test drove it. :)
