Did the sound start right after you installed the mid-pipes though? If so, then it's probably them causing the sound, not the differential. That's when mine started and it sounded like it was right below my
seat. Only on left turn's and only the first 1 or two and then would quit. It's really bizarre.
Nothing was visibly touching on mine either but loosening and sliding the drivers side pipe over seemed to fix it. Pushing back the heat shielding was to add some more space but likely not the culprit.
