Squeal and grinding

Yep, those exact same symptoms. Take a look at the drivers side midpipe. I adjusted the front (engine end) so that it slid all the way towards the outside of the car and then pressed the heat shielding up and away around the pipe with my hands. Grinding stopped.
Thanks for the info. I’ll put the car on the lift again and give it another look/adjustment. If that doesn’t do it then it has to be the diff oil issue others are mentioning. The sounds seems like it’s coming from below and behind driver seat but could just be my mind playing tricks on me. Going to get to the bottom of this very soon...

The squeal on shutdown seams to have affected at least several people on this forum, myself included. At least one member had to have the turbos completely replaced when Kia was made aware of his issue.

The vibration when accelerating and turning from a stop is something I've mentioned on here but haven't gotten any/many bites from other forum members. I still need it to be checked out. My guess is that it's coming from either the rear or center differential, but I honestly don't know.

I had the differential replaced on both stingers and that fixed the grinding in the rear end. The red one is grinding again and I am taking it in on Monday.

I believe the diff oil change is only for Australia. I was having a loud noise coming from my LSD when making tight turns. So they replaced my LSD. Also had the turbo squeak and my passenger side turbo was replaced. Guess what? Both sounds are coming back! Yay...

Negative. I had the diff oil changed by the dealer under warranty, they even said there wasa pit stop ticket on the system for the issue.
Noise has not come back since replacing the fluid.

Any luck?

Everything is solid underneath. Nothing rubbing or touching at all. It’s got to be the diff. Taking it in this week. Hopefully that solves the issue.

Did the sound start right after you installed the mid-pipes though? If so, then it's probably them causing the sound, not the differential. That's when mine started and it sounded like it was right below my seat. Only on left turn's and only the first 1 or two and then would quit. It's really bizarre.

Nothing was visibly touching on mine either but loosening and sliding the drivers side pipe over seemed to fix it. Pushing back the heat shielding was to add some more space but likely not the culprit.

It was the morning after - first cold start. So weird. Up on the lift again I go....

Mine started shortly after SSR DP install. I honestly don't think thats the issue but I'll check the heat shield anyway. Has anyone had issues with the diffs on AWD models?

Did anyone ever get an update on this? Mine is at my mechanic today, I'm having him look into to it before i take it to the dealership. (car is in for an oil change anyway)

Quick question guys. My car is parked and when I try to rev it I hear this squeak before the rev kicks in. Do you know what this issue might be? I attached a link for the sound.

Does not sound as a vacuum leak, if that were the case it will be a permanent hissing noise.

The noise is generated whenever the gas pedal is pressed and depressed.

Thank you for the insight! I was scared for a second... Haha

Resurrecting this thread as I’m having similar issues. Just brought it to the dealership they said nothing was problematic in terms of functionality and fit. Going to adjust both pipes and update everyone. Issue only happened when I jumped a shallow curb u-turning. It’s a miracle I found this thread as I was panicking having to live with this for a while lol
