Just recently I started noticing the wastegate squeal whenever I shut my car off. Is it something that deserves immediate attention??

Also on cold starts when making a left hand turn I get a grinding noise/vibration that I can feel through the gas pedal. Once the car is warm I can't seem to replicate it tho. Any ideas?

The squeal on shutdown seams to have affected at least several people on this forum, myself included. At least one member had to have the turbos completely replaced when Kia was made aware of his issue.

The vibration when accelerating and turning from a stop is something I've mentioned on here but haven't gotten any/many bites from other forum members. I still need it to be checked out. My guess is that it's coming from either the rear or center differential, but I honestly don't know.

Grinding is diff, you need the new oil which is covered by warranty.

I have both of these issues. I figured the grind on the quick left was just the ABS self test but now im not so sure. What do you mean you need the new oil? As in the diff has incorrect oil from the factory?

The grinding is definitely the differential, take it in and have the oil drained and replaced.
There is a Pit Stop ticket for the issue and it should be covered under warranty. Also you may need to wait for the dealer to get the right diff oil in as it is not something the have readily available.

So why would the rear diff only do it on a left turn only after startup and never any other time. Seems odd, ive had lots of cars that do an ABS self test immediately after startup that feels identical.

Is the grinding consistent for you guys or just intermittent? I can only replicate it when the car has been sitting for a while.

This happens to me too! Thought I was the only one. I’m going to speak to dealer about diff oil ASAP. I’m due for an oil change anyways....

It only happens when the car is cold on the first left hand turn I make - but only if it is a marginally hard turn. If I take it slow no noise at all.

Exact same here, I might try hard right leaving the parking garage as a test next week to see if its left turns only.

The new oil has a higher friction resistance

I posted about the left turn grinding in another thread but my AWD car began making that noise on left turns after I installed the SSR mid-pipes. I was able to eliminate the noise by pushing the heat shielding away from the mid-pipes under the car and slightly adjusting the drivers side pipe further towards the outside of the car.

On a stock car, it's worth checking the heat shield clearance around the mid-pipes.

Did your issue happen only on cold starts and on the first left only? I ask because mine started making the noise day after ssr midpipes. I’ve had the car on a lift twice now as I initially thought it was something rubbing. I’m confident that nothing is rubbing and installed correctly but again this only started happening after the install. So confused....

Yep, those exact same symptoms. Take a look at the drivers side midpipe. I adjusted the front (engine end) so that it slid all the way towards the outside of the car and then pressed the heat shielding up and away around the pipe with my hands. Grinding stopped.
