Sporty Exhaust Crackle

I get some nice gurgling when letting off throttle on the stock exhaust. Definitely no pops and bangs but the gurgling is audible in the cabin with the windows closed. Only mod is gapped densos.

Hoping at some point it can get some pops like my Cobra (video below of my buddy in my Cobra and me in my Sorento behind it). Love how/when it pops. Probably a lot more excessive than most stangs. Haven’t wanted to get any pops for my Stinger until better options (that don’t sound like bbs in a can) exist.

I believe you can get the axle back Kia Bi modial exhaust for around $2600 fitted by Kia. My Ark grip non EVC fitted $2800. $AUD.
You can buy the Bi model unfitted for $2600. It's $3300 fitted. The difference is it will *not* void your warranty, but any other exhaust will. Maybe, you do not care about the warranty now, but when something goes wrong you will. Just check out other people posts about void warranties. Good luck...

I was advised by my dealership, I could put any exhaust on, Cai's etc, just not a tune that interferes with the ECU. Only something that interferes with the ECU will void the Kia warranty. I have the Bimodal though it was thrown into the deal when negotiating price to buy the car.

There is a lot of conflicting information on this. I'm a bit more conserative and do not want to push my luck.

How do you find the bimodel exhaust on your car? It's next on my list of things to do.

I like it, I drive in custom mode, so have the comfort of the suspension but the drive train in sport. When you give it some it does sound good and I like hearing the turbos kick in. I would still like to hear the Borla in real life as that is still an exhaust I would contemplate getting some time but I'm unsure if it has an in cabin drone.

I've also been advised of this by my dealership. They even offered to install my CAI. The only problem is when the aftermarket part directly effects/causes the warranted issue, thats when they wont honour the warranty. I guess it depends on the dealership:confused:

Hello. Just curious. What is the background and history of the so much desired gurgle, pop and crackle sound of a cars exhaust sound today? Is it directed to those external to the car or is it meant for the occupants of the car? Perhaps Kia should offer the gurgle, pop and crackle to the enhanced exhaust sound feature the Stinger currently has.

Thank you for your input, no luck needed im more than happy with my Ark exhaust how this effects my warranty god knows. Anyone enjoy your Bimodial . Test drove it myself when first introduced...um no thanks.

That's where it becomes a gray area. Did a mod cause an issue.

For example an exhaust + CAI could cause the transmission or diff(s) to fail due to the increase in torque. Sounds ridiculous, but I have heard about void warranties from that. Not for the stinger but for other cars.

When asking a dealer about mods, do it over email, so you have their answer in writing.

Magnuson-Moss warranty act here in the United States, requires the car manufacturer, and it has to be an engineer, (not moonshine Michael who just got the service manager position last week)to prove your parts caused the issue for them to void the warranty.
Having said that, KIA will look to put you in a corner and force you to get legal representation to force them to prove their diagnosis is true. Good news is that in Texas the attorney fees are paid separately from you compensation, which can get really high if they push hard. Google it.

Prior to this revision, Hyundai would deny a warranty claim for the simple fact that a consumer used aftermarket parts or installers, regardless of whether or not the use of that part was relevant to the issue a consumer was facing. This caused problems for consumers who would try to utilize the seemingly great powertrain warranty offered by Hyundai.

I just read a post that a warranty claim was denied because of *execsive* brake use. It was about the poor quality brake pads they use in the US.

WTF? The brakes have to be fit for purpose and clearly they are not up to the job in the US. This demonstrates just how bad it can be with warranties.

Secondly, how much trouble is someone going to go to when their warranty claim is denied? Yes, there is the law, but that does not stop service centres from doing the wrong thing and trying their luck.

Remember, Kia pays much less to the dealer to do a warranty job then what the car owner will pay. This alone is an incentive to put the cost on to the owner.

The safest option is to never put yourself in the situation where you need to rely on a warranty claim.

Lawyer up. Yes it sucks. But it's better than the alternative. There is an old saying that goes, "you have to pay to play". It's not for everyone and that's ok. Just remember, (I'm sure your attorney will include this in their monetary compensation request), that any of your time, (causing you to miss work, miss time with your family, etc.....) allocated to the issue(s) being litigated will be reimbursed, as will actual monetary loss due to having to arrange for temporary transportation, etc...

If it scares you, and that's perfectly understandable, don't change anything on your car.
One of the articles Ive referenced above is from 2018 and names not just KIA/Hyundai for trying to create their own automotive monopoly in regards warranty coverage but also in forcing you to use only their parts. They got handled and changed their policy.
Excerpt from above article is below.

The FTC Issues a Compliance Warning to Hyundai
In April of 2018, the FTC issued compliance warnings to six major companies, citing violations of the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act.

6 manufacturers. Not just. Hyundai/Kia.
So if they want to force you to fight them, plant both feet and make them sorry they ever knew you. With legal counsel, haha. I've read at least 6 recent cases where Hyundai/Kia agrees to all 3 offers from the plaintiff's lawyer which is much more costly than if they just did the right thing. Can't stay in business forever if you keep getting your bottom dollar decimated, and that doesn't even take into consideration the long lasting damage that will occur to their, " best in class", warranty coverage claims either.

I would go through Google and copy and paste them for you, but I'll let you peruse for yourself, should you decide to. There are a plethora of lawyers to choose from as well. Good luck.

Hey....absolutely nothing wrong with the bi-modal. Think it’s a great fit with the character of the Stinger.

Ive driven both so i made a choice ,pretty happy with the final result yes i had to do some modifications and alterations to achieve what i was looking (Hearing) for. The bimodial exhaust was engineered for the Stinger and is warranted so thats a win/win. I just chose differently we are all different.

Awhile back i was at meet with 5 or 6 Stingers and we all had different exhausts.
Borla,Bimodial, Jun B, Varex, JT, and Ark. Everyone was happy with their choices.
I think the previous point of the member was the importance of keeping within the warranty parameters. Im well down the road from there.
