A lawyer would probably get you a better deal, but you would have to pay the lawyer. Overall you'd probably end up behind unless the lawyer is your best bud or something. So I sent the offer to a lawyer here for review but I have a feeling they are going to tell me why it may be on the low end it will be within legal limits or not worth going to court over, but we'll see. I've also been asking the KIA rep who sent me this for a more detailed explanation of option 1 and clarification of why I'm paying for extended protection plans for a car that didn't even make to its second scheduled maintenance in option 2. So far he has ghosted me(calls go to voicemail and doesn't respond to emails). Pretty sure that's a tactic to make me just choose within the 2 week period the offer is supposedly good for.
Call the front desk, ask for the sales manager. Usually the website shows the managers. Tell them the sales person isn't working with you. If you don't get a response in a day, call the general manager and say the same thing. That lights a big fire under their butts. The sales guy won't get any commission from anything that happens with you, so he'll want to spend his time elsewhere.
I had the same problem with the service dude on a warranty repair. Once I called his boss and left a message saying "Hey, is Joe still working there? I haven't gotten a call back from him in several days/weeks...." poof! Things started happening quickly.
You're already on the right path with them paying for the rental and making offers. You're in the position to start negotiating. They *really* don't want to pay for rentals, so they'll want to make a deal quickly. Just know that you need to start working the process and stay on top of it. Most of the time they have agreements that say once a certain point is reached (a tentative agreement, or X days after some event) they automatically stop paying for the rental.
I'd recommend figuring out what you want to do - you can check national inventory online if you want a replacement - then set aside a few hours to go to the dealer and play hardball.
