3.3TT Quicksilver Exhaust Systems

I bought this exhaust a while back, and it took a great deal of effort to get it installed. It had to be bent to fit and the cross brace would not fit. Ultimately, I took off this exhaust. When taking off the exhaust it was noted that in multiple places across this exhaust the wields were failing and evidence of exhaust leaks were found. I am really disappointed as I have had their exhaust on other cars of mine and I have been pleased. There was a reason why it was 50% off so, buyer beware. Rather than trying to resell the exhaust after removal I threw it away.

Was this the original or the Super Sport?

To update on my situation, Paul emailed me back right away and said he would add me to the list of recipients for the fix. Quoted me 5 weeks. I asked him what they were changing and he said the internal design of the silencers was changing. I'm guessing he meant the resonators? It sounds to me like the midpipes aren't the problem.

Sounds like I need to get under there and do an inspection...

Yuk. If the hack that did that welded all of them.. there’s going to be a lot of issues.

Did you contact QS about that? This makes me very nervous about the new system I just installed.

No I didn't bother, I payed for the 50% off version. I'm assuming they knew they had a problem, and that's why they sold it for the price they did. I'm selling my car, so it doesn't matter.

Please send them photos and info to establish a pattern for those of us following you. I assume we will have the same problems on the super sport since most of us have fitment issues.

Do not buy. I have the same problems on the super sport system. Lots of leaks with bad welds

Maybe I should crawl under the car and see what wonders await... Just curious, are people seeing more issues with the catback, the downpipes or both?
