Question for the wheel experts here

I've dealt with Tire Rack for decades and they're conservative in what they feel max sizes are - understandably so.

So if someone wants as much rubber as they can get on the road, stagger-free, no fender rolling and no rubbing, what're we thinking works?
If you want to stay with the same O.D. you can run a 255/30-20. It'll fit 100%

what size wheel are you looking at?

Interesting thread. As I mentioned in the Kia Stinger Experience thread when asked the pro driver said the one thing he would change for better handling was to put the same size tires as are on the rear in the front also.

So the question is would another set of rear wheels fit on the front with the 255/35/r19?

I think the real question is what's the widest tire (and wheel) I can put on the front and then make the rear equal.

To be more specific, would a rear rim fit up front, so that the same tires could be used on all 4 corners.

I'm actually kinda doubtful on that, based on the wider overall width as well as the higher offset. Only one way to find out for sure, though... ;)

I'm also doubtful. Front wheels need room to turn. As Kazz suggested, find the widest you can get away with on the front, and match it on the rear.

Tire Rack likely has all the details to give you the informed answer we cannot. Go to their website, and start a chat.

If anyone is ever wondering, this is 19x9.5 +25 all around with 255/35/19.

Hmm-so the answer to my post #23 above appears to be yes. For better handling get another pair of rear wheels and match it up on the front. Time to search the old couch cushions. :)

A square setup is usually preferred for handling balance. Staggered fitments look good, but they have a tendency toward understeer. The square fitment posted by GetYourWheels above looks great, and I'm sure it handles well, but it's little too aggressive for my tastes. I'd go square, but a bit more conservative.

Wait, what? All four wheels, same size, width, offset, putting 9.5" wide rubber on the ground?? So any wheel can go on any corner? Looks meaty, too... Need to see more! LOL

Only one I got left is a Front quarter shot. I think an even better setup is with a 19x9 so that the 255 isn't "stretched" over like that 9.5 with a slightly higher offset to even out the fitment front to back.

Also, I just saw your sig... I too had a 1995 Miata... Brilliant Black. I miss it.

Now that sounds like it would be about perfect.

But I want more rubber on the road. LOL And yes, that's curb rash waiting to happen with the 255s. Can't get less stretch on the 9.5s?

If you don't mind running one size up to a 265, then we can get a decent setup on a 9.5 but a 255/35/19 is pretty common tire size that a lot of B8/B9 Audi guys use on their 9.5 wheel.

265's gonna be very little sidewall, I'm guessing. What about 19x9.5 all around, same offset with some beefy aspect ratio?

you'll lose a little bit of sidewall but in total height and overall diameter, it'll be close to stock 235. If you don't care to much for the overall diameter, then you can move up one profile height.

For the AWD Stinger,
does anybody know what offset (could be a small range) is best for an 18x8.5 wheel and 245 width tires to fit close to oem?

18X8.5 +40 would be something of an ideal offsets.
