Price Headed Up or Down?

Yeah, you and me both. I was at the dealership this morning and they wanted 55k for a 2022 Scorpion package with 10k miles, WTF???? A new gt2 was going for 45 grand at the time when I bought my car. Can't touch a gt2 for under 50k now. I had to stay under 40k so I definitely wouldn't have been able to get one.
Try 60k now with all the dealer add ons. All the disclaimers advertising 54 mention its not actual pricing. I have seen some listed for 65k not kidding 2023 AWD GT2 black. Most starting prices are up now to 56 or 57. All major car lots are filled with overpriced used cars ....hardly any new.
Honestly I don't see how the auto industry here in the states hasn't gone bankrupt.

People need vehicles, so they pay whatever. Good news (although not good for anyone long term) is that a lot of the dealers with inventory right now are getting screwed as the cars they overpaid are sitting/collecting dust, or they're forced to sell for same or less than they paid. Dealers going out of business is likely. This doesn't help anyone, competition is always preferred. Fewer dealers = the more the surviving dealers can name their price.

I just took a Carvana buyout - prices are falling. I have a 2012 FX35 and the Stinger was on my shortlist. My FX has been starting to have some issues this year and I feel like it's getting to the point where it's going to start nickel and diming me. I paid 19,500 for it in 2018. They offered me 14,500 at the beginning of the month. Weirdly, they say usually it's only a 7-day offer but mine was 3 weeks with a 12/21 expiration. I wish I sold it in march when they quoted me 17,500, but c'est la vie. I requoted it yesterday for the hell of it with a diff email address and their offer dropped to 12,500, so I locked in that offer of 14,500 - they're picking it up Monday.

I was going to get a 2019 GT2 but happened to drive a 2022 GT-Line the other day - that new widescreen is so much better... and it does feel like they upped the interior quality a bit with the refresh. I wish I could get vent seats with the GT-Line because that 4-cyl is actually good enough for me, but no dice. So now I'm looking for certified 2022 GT2s - trying to find one for about 42k and I'll pull the trigger and hang on to it for at least 8 years or more. I work from home permanently now so I don't rack up the miles like I used to.

I am curious to see if they'll drop or go up w/ the discontinuation. I was also looking at CX9's - they really drive great, beautiful interiors on the signature trim - but no touchscreen which is annoying and they need another 50hp. I was content until I drove another GT2 and realized I wouldn't be happy with the CX9 too underpowered.

Looking forward to becoming a Stinger owner.

I think you'll be hard pressed to find a '22 GT2 for 42K in this market. Have you seen them at this price before?

There's a handful from 40-42k - my problem is I'm picky on color. Just have to keep my eye out, thankfully i have my grams old car to use so I dont have to rush it.

^^What about mileage/condition?

My OTD pricing last year (aug '21) for a '22 gt-line with no options was just over 41K USD.

There's a 2022 with 13k on it on cars dot com for $43k. Looks good to me. Wrong color though.

^^Seems pricey. Mine was 37,5 +ttl new. Everything is over priced these days.

Any of you looking at these fake online prices thinking that you’re going to get a good deal right now are so gullible lol. You aren’t getting a 22GT2 with only 13k miles for 43k bud unless it’s been wrecked.

They're from dealerships with clean carfaxes lol, but ok. I posted the link man - its a Certified Pre Owned @ a Kia dealer. I'm too new ot post the link it won't let me link to it.

The used prices for most cars are coming down but the stinger really seems to hold ids value in the used market. Honestly at this point if I can get one new at MsRP (even if it’s 55k) I probably will do that.

I am on the fence thining about that too - I found a CPO one with like 10k miles for $45k; or a few in the color combos i want new for like $54k

Decisions decisions lol

Interested to know of the cancellation now, how the prices will hold up after a year. Appreciate or depreciate.

I'm interested too, not that I have any control over the outcome.

I would imagine they would either remain pretty balanced or appreciate a tad? Wouldn't make sense if prices go lower when they're a limited amount. (I hope)
