Try 60k now with all the dealer add ons. All the disclaimers advertising 54 mention its not actual pricing. I have seen some listed for 65k not kidding 2023 AWD GT2 black. Most starting prices are up now to 56 or 57. All major car lots are filled with overpriced used cars ....hardly any new.
People need vehicles, so they pay whatever. Good news (although not good for anyone long term) is that a lot of the dealers with inventory right now are getting screwed as the cars they overpaid are sitting/collecting dust, or they're forced to sell for same or less than they paid. Dealers going out of business is likely. This doesn't help anyone, competition is always preferred. Fewer dealers = the more the surviving dealers can name their price.
I just took a Carvana buyout - prices are falling. I have a 2012 FX35 and the Stinger was on my shortlist. My FX has been starting to have some issues this year and I feel like it's getting to the point where it's going to start nickel and diming me. I paid 19,500 for it in 2018. They offered me 14,500 at the beginning of the month. Weirdly, they say usually it's only a 7-day offer but mine was 3 weeks with a 12/21 expiration. I wish I sold it in march when they quoted me 17,500, but c'est la vie. I requoted it yesterday for the hell of it with a diff email address and their offer dropped to 12,500, so I locked in that offer of 14,500 - they're picking it up Monday.
There's a 2022 with 13k on it on cars dot com for $43k. Looks good to me. Wrong color though.
Paid less than that even for my base awd 3.3tt. 36k
I am on the fence thining about that too - I found a CPO one with like 10k miles for $45k; or a few in the color combos i want new for like $54k
I'm interested too, not that I have any control over the outcome.
I would imagine they would either remain pretty balanced or appreciate a tad? Wouldn't make sense if prices go lower when they're a limited amount. (I hope)
