PRESSERtech Kia Stinger GT Dyno RESULTS!!

Will there be any plans to develop a solution where the ECU flash can be done on the customer side without sending you the ecu? Either installed via laptop and OBD port or laptop and customer connector to directly to the ECU? This delivery method might help you move many more units in a cost effective way.

I've owned 79 different vehicles and if those I've had 19 of them tuned either via full ECU reprogram or via Diablosport. Never once have I needed to change to plugs or regap them.
I've owned about 40 cars and never had my paint flake off like this. Welcome to Kia. Bad paint choices and bad plug choices.

How's she running with the tune?

I don't have it yet. My firmware was newer than the others. The code was cracked this morning and the tune is done. I'm out of town on business two more weeks. When I return I'll install and give my first impressions.

OH!!! NOOOO!!!!

Pressertech,
Any updates as to the mileage on your development car? Plugs still OK on it?

Keep in mind that all Stingers have slightly different plug gaps. I ran race chip race mode on 92 octane just great for months. Sold my chip and the buyer cracked his plugs and blew out the coils running 94 octane in the first week he had the chip. If the test car survives doesnt mean yours will. Change or regap the plugs!

So....I am finally back in town and my cobwebbed ECU awaits install tonight..... :)

Tomorrow or Friday I will create a new thread providing my "seat of the pants" impressions of the PresserTech AWD tune for my 3.3TT. I have yet to find a shop in El Paso that can Dyno my AWD, so it may be a while before I can provide actual data.

I am SOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!

WOW!!! TWO WEEKS....FOR REAL!!!

Looking VERY much forward to your "Seat of the Pants" impression!!

Plan is to re-gap OEM plugs and add K&N drop-in filters. Right now--no other mods apart from the tune planned. Waiting to see if Pressertech comes up with a source for spare ECUs.

I'm simply going to call this tune "Crack for Snap-Your-Head-Back" addicts like me!

While I was traveling for business, my ECU was being decoded and tuned by PRESSERTech. Much to my disappointment, business obligations kept from being able to install my reprogrammed ECU for much longer than I intended. Last night, my dream came true when I put the tuned ECU into my baby and took her out for a spin.

While I was away from my Stinger, I spent some high quality time driving a new BMW 550i XDrive. That beast, and it's 456hp/480tq, had me wondering why I bought the Stinger. It's effortless acceleration was thrilling! This experience became my benchmark for whether I would consider the new tune a success.

Thanks to Todd at PRESSERTech, I have zero regrets with my tuned 3.3L TT AWD Stinger! This tune is amazing, bringing the most smiles per gallon I've experienced in longer than I can recall! I put it into Sport mode, selected drive, mashed the pedal and without hesitation my rear tires broke loose and she roared ahead!

I wish there was a Dyno near El Paso so I could find the exact HP/TQ numbers, but for now I will simply be satisfied knowing she didn't move like this before the tune. This tune is worth every penny spent, and more! IMO

Thanks for reading!

Mister Mac I hear theres some mighty fine dynos over in Juarez take the beast over there....and you get a bigger bang for your buck too! Wash

The dyno won't really tell you much without knowing your baseline numbers but there's a performance shop called Special Vehicle Services near you.

There's a few others in your area but I just posted the first one that Google revealed.

Maybe this has been discussed elsewhere that I didn’t find, but what’s the difference between this tune and the Tork tune, outside of price?

I'm not sure anybody knows because tuners don't share their info. However, from my perspective York is targeting turbo boost and bolt ons plus plugs to handle that shift in power, while Pressertech rewrites a balanced program allowing for maximum safe increases within the functional capability of the stock components. Pressertech used my stock data from about 3,000 miles of use to create my gains. There is no need for different plugs, exhaust, intakes, etc. However, when I install my electronic exhaust cutouts and cold air intakes, they may need to adjust my tune.

I've done this on many vehicles without harm and with tons of fun!

Although this wasn't what I wanted my tune for, here is an added benefit: improved fuel economy.

This portion of my commute, in comfort mode, was consistently between 29.0 and 30.0 before the tune. Not only do you get better performance, especially in Sport mode, but better mpgs and added power in Comfort mode.
