3.3TT Please Help - Check Engine Light WOT

Throttle body acutator and fuel injection system needed cleaning. Fuel injection system cleaning $280. Throttle body actuator covered under warranty but without it would have been $700 yikes. Throttle body actuator will be here on Thursday to get it installed. Just glad they were able to find out what’s going on and get it taken care of. Two codes were stored P061B and P2118. Hope this post helps ppl who experience this problem or codes .
Congratulations, hopefully this solved the problem for you - let us know how it goes.

What kind of catch can do you have ?
Mishimoto MMBCC-STNGR-18PBE Baffled Oil Catch Can

It ... mostly fits. There's supposed to be a bolt for mounting the bottom but it's missing on my 2022. I've tried to find out it's capacity, but it isn't much. I emptied the contents into a mason jar, might be a little over a cup.

I should note that I disconnected the battery for 30 to 60 minutes after I emptied the can, and haven't had the problem again. I've also run a couple of bottles of the Lucas fuel injector cleaner stuff through the gas tank.

Thank you for your reply! I've got a 2022 GT2 Scorpion. The catch can was full, I emptied it and let it idle for a little while. So far so good.

I've only taken it on a short drive as a test, school pickup is coming up soon, hopefully it doesn't go full mayday limp mode on the highway again (I'm assuming it was limp mode, my previous car was a Corolla).

I've had one of the BOVs get stuck open a couple times -- I lose all turbo boost but no check engine light (or error codes). Restarting the car fixes that issue. I've bought some synthetic grease but haven't gotten around to cleaning and reinstalling.

I'm a bit worried about my "mods" though, not sure how the dealer will respond to the can and BOVs, oil change is due basically now.
Wow !! A full catch can did that? How many miles did you have before emptying the catch can. I am adding, Injen intakes, mishimoto catch cans, snorkels, JB4 and sway bars next week. I was told to empty the catch can every other oil change. All these stories have me worried about modding the car since its only has 1000 miles on it. 2023 GT2 Grand Touring model.

Im almost in the same boat. I consider myself extremely lucky that my dealer actually knows how to work on these cars the right way, and that stuff can happen when you mod them. That's probably from the fact that two of the tech and the owner have moded stingers themselves though lol
What dealer. I’m looking for a good one

I
I hope they find something too. I’m bone stock as well so I really don’t get it. I don’t see how drop in panel filters can cause this not unless they are not tight and secure . Anyways keep you guys posted
It sounds like the full catch can. Happened to two people on this thread and emptying it fixed the problem. Problems solved.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

I had a bms catch can but it’s off now. I’m hearing ups and downs about catch cans so I’ll do without for now. Still stock for the most part.

I have had a dual catch can setup for a long time. No issues. With a proper install there shouldn't be any issues.

I had the weirdest experience the other day. Drove to the store, did some shopping. Pull out of the parking spot (in reverse), ok. Shift to D, and transmission light comes on, and car will not move. Engine struggling to stay alive. Didn't stall, but couldn't get any power out of it to move the car. Put on hazard lights, turn off, turn on again, light doesn't come back and all is well. Drove home without a hitch, been driving for a week without an issue.

jb4, pulling codes once I got home showed nothing. I know, should have pulled codes while the light was on, but couldn't exactly stay stopped in the middle of a busy parking lot.

I had just filled up with ~E35-40 (which I've done 25+ times now, I think) before driving ~1-1.5 miles to the store. Possible a small shot of pure E85 jumped right into the fuel lines and tripped a sensor just after restart? Have not had anything like this before or since, and haven't changed anything in weeks / months. jb4 / diy intakes, ~E30 (self-mixed), maps 3-4.

Interesting, quite different to my experience so sounds like your theory might be a good reason; as long it was a one off!

Thought I would update as well, the car has done an additional 10,000km since I had found the original issue for this thread and has not come back since, so effectively confirmed it was the seal on the right airbox.

This is so counter-intuitive: something so simple can cause that much trouble?! (What about that G70 you ordered? :p)
Just realised I never responded Merlin! I had to cancel the G70 (per below), and I've placed an order for a Model Y Performance and EV6 GT - going to cancel which ever one takes the longest really. I injured my back playing rugby and the low car can be a struggle if I am having a bad day. Drove the Model 3 performance and the EV performance and ability as daily driver is bliss. But.. I don't think I can get rid of the stinger, think I am just going to pay the loan out and have a sunday car now. It's just a gorgeous looking car.
