Pictorial where did you go in your Stinger today

Yesterday, we went walking in Copperton park (just outside of Kennecott Copper mine). I noticed as I pulled in that the parking stanchions had been replaced (haven't parked there in years). This is what I am talking about when I observe/warn not to pull in too close to curbs/stanchions: people do this all the time. And by developing a bad habit of pulling in over a curb/stanchion, you will bust your front end. Imagine what my front bumper would look like right now if I had smacked into that thing!?

I always reverse in no matter what I am driving. Those are some big arse kerbs.

Saturday, I took my son hiking on the Mueller park trail to Elephant Rock. On our way out to go eat lunch, I was talking with him about this, that and the other thing, assuming that since I have been to Pace's Diner quite a few times (though separated by a year or so between times), I could follow my nose down to 500 West and then north to Pace's. Nope. I turned north too soon and got discombobulated and entirely forgot "500 West": we ended up eating at a Crown Burgers joint several townships north of Bountiful. Hah. (See my new thread on Maps, the challenge: share any worse than this )

I used to put cement bags in the back of my LX Torana, to stop the rear from hanging out, I expect you were doing the same.

Hiked with a couple of friends around Brighton, lake Mary and Silver lake. My car is barely visible in the almost dead center of that parking lot pic (maximum zoom: I have the end spot with nobody on either side, and so it remained all afternoon).

Drove the Stinger to the golf course and spotted this little Mantis on the 3rd fairway

Dropped off my friend and snapped a few pics with the cobblestone on his street. Stinger handled the bumpy road surprisingly well..no major rattles

They're crazy little buggers!

I remember when I lived in Virginia we had them everywhere and watching them catch and eat little pests was amazing to behold!

They are my favorite insect, sort of the T Rex of the bug world.

(edit: which is a stupid analogy, given the disproportionate size of the forearms involved. )

Thanks Kas! Yeah I painted them with High temp glossy engine paint. Bit of a process but I love the look of them. I had to removed them, sand, prime, paint and finally hit them with clear coat. They’re holding up really well though. 2 years and they look like the day I painted them.

Returned to the Uinta mountains; nice relief from the 100F+ heat of the Valley: up there it was in the high 60s most of the time and only in the 70s the rest of the time. Two friends were with me. On the way up I saw a White Stinger; and on the way back I saw "Jasmin's" White Stinger
