New Recall - February 2021

Called another dealership and they said that the warranty process requires an inspection then order the part with the Vin associated with it. Such BS, why can't they assign the part to the VIN that's already there? Also is anyone getting a rental during any of this recall? I don't want to spend 3 hours anyday for an inspection only to come back in a few days.

They're just being stupid jerks, why? I have no idea. I called, referenced the recall letter IN MY HAND, and the service super ordered the part within two minutes, while I was on the phone. He specifically said, they were doing it this way so I wouldn't have to come in twice. Come on man! Tell them my story if you have to.

Kia rental? I doubt it. Unless it is a luxury car brand lol.

Haha “inspect the wiring”. What a a joke. “Yep, there are wires in that fuse box!”.

Hahaha. Just emailed Kia Corporate. We'll see what they say...

Inspect the wires so that they know how to butcher them haha.

So the Garden Grove Dealership totally wasted my time. The service advisor hid behind his desk and sent a new hire to be the middleman. Basically they wanted the car for 3 to 4 hours to inspect the wiring, then order the parts and have me come back. They didn't have any rentals available and wouldn't give me a Lyft since my work was over 5 miles away. I told them I'm going somewhere else. I'll be callong other dealerships and see whoever has the part in before I even make an appointment.
Tehe welcome to Kia!!! :D ;)

I had to call and schedule an appointment over a week and advance. Once I got there, fifteen minutes before my appointment, it took them nearly five hours (around ten minutes short of five hours) to complete the recall. Absolutely insane. Thankfully I had my phone and laptop with me but still... I'm quoted "shouldn't take more than two hours" and it takes almost five hours... heck technically over five hours if you count me getting there fifteen minutes before my appointment... I really wish I was exaggerating but I'm not...

LOL SO TRUE! :p

Psh good luck! They're polite, I'll give them that, but they're usually clueless and very delayed in their responses from my experience. My goodness does Kia have a long way to go... but I believe in them! I see potential!:thumbup:

Such a shame. The car is great. Customer service, not so much. Also lodged a complaint with NHTSA.
