3.3TT Mishimoto's Stinger GT Catch Can Thread

Just went over to the Mishimoto website and it looks like they're having a sale on their catch cans if anyone is interested.

My Mishimoto finally arrived today. Easy install, but that one clamp is a bit of a pain to get off.

Agreed, that back clamp is the toughest part of the install. I wound up pretty much destroying that clamp getting it off when I did mine. Those things are terrible in general but even worse when in an awkward position like that. If I ever had to reinstall factory PCV, I wouldn't put that type of clamp on again.

Anyone else having trouble finding stock of these catchcans?

Installed the Mishimoto Baffled Oil Catch Can tonight, was a bit of work. Does it look like I have the hoses correct? Figured i had a 50% chance of having it right.

what catch can is that? Any reason you got the generic mishi one instead of the mishi one made for the stinger?

I did not realize it was generic, and liked how it looked.

The all-thread stud to secure the catch can brace broke as soon as I tried tightening it down. The stud didn't look like it ever held anything together. Is it fine if I secured a bolt in place?

The same exact thing happened to me on my install. It left a little hole in the fender in its place when the bolt snapped off.

I just went to my local hardware store and tried some stainless steel bolt/nut/washer sizes until I found a length and thread that fit well to hold everything together. It's been about a year and it's been fine, no issues. The hardest part is getting your hand up in the fender to hold a washer and bolt in place while someone else screws the nut on under the hood.

I will say that it took almost no pressure to ring the bolt off when I did my install, it never had a chance. Those bolts aren't meant to screw things onto really. Kind of a weak design by mishimoto, but not sure how they could improve upon it while not complicating the install.
