3.3TT Mishimoto's Stinger GT Catch Can Thread

Nick, thought I saw something about your catch can out of stock right now?
If so, when they be ready for delivery again?
Ready to purchase
Hmm... I purchased Friday. Hoping for a shipment notification by tomorrow. No indication of it being out of stock.

It is out of stock until early February. :(

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for your interest in our catch can kits! Unfortunately, we are out of stock of the kits at the moment, which is good and bad news. The good news is that it does mean that people are happy with their kits and trying to get them as quickly as possible, but that also means we will have to ask you to bear with us for a little while for new orders.

The ordering team does not have a hard date at the moment, but they are looking at about 4-6 weeks out (mid-late February) to be on the safe side. If you're looking to get an order set up, please don't hesitate to give our customer service team a call. We're happy to get a backorder in the system for you so it saves a spot in line for that next restocking date so when they are back in the warehouse, we'll be able to get a kit right out to you. With an order in the system, it gives you a point of reference with our team and you should also receive updates when our eta. gets confirmed as we get closer. There is a chance that they may arrive sooner than expected as well, so with an order already set up, you'll hear about that restock right away as well.

Alternatively, you're welcome to search with our part number, MMBCC-STNGR-18PBE online as some of our vendors may still have a few kits left. If you order through another source, we just ask that you hold onto your receipt/order confirmation as proof of purchase in the event of a warranty issue.

If you have any questions on the backorder for these kits or anything else for your Stinger, feel free to get in touch via phone or an email to suppport@mishimoto.com.

Thanks,

Nathaniel

Cool, thx
Guess I bite the bullet and charge the credit cards some more
Yeah, that's a dangerously bad habit I share, but at least I've been paying it off.

My Mishimoto finally arrived today. Easy install, but that one clamp is a bit of a pain to get off.

I have a newbie question.

I received my catch can about a week ago, and I'll be finally installing it tomorrow.

But for the life of me, I cannot open the catch can. It seems like it's twisted on so tight that it wont budge.

Any tips on twist opening the catch can?

Thanks

Yeah, I was about to look it up because I was having such a hard time. I even thought I might need a giant hex to loosen the bottom!

I tried again after rewatching the video, and it finally unscrewed.

@Mishimoto - any plans to make your OCC in colours other than black? (I'm ok with the bracket staying black) - thanks

It is hard. If I remember I had to wrap a towel around it and use some channel locks to get it open the first time.

Great question! The root cause is that while the O-ring does come pre-lubed sometimes they do dry out which can make the can difficult to open the first time around. When you do open it, just make sure to lightly lube the O-ring so it's much easier to open after that.

What I usually do is install one of the fittings and use that as an extra grip on the top of the can

We don't typically make our direct fit kits with the different colored cans, but we do offer the can itself with a red or polished finish

That would then be without the hoses, clamps and bracket correct? Is it the same as the compact OCC you offer? Or is the can itself different?
